Trending Tuesday Morning Shuffle - Crybaby Mix

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

I am back. I was a bit under the weather yesterday.  Time is short - so let's jump right into the Trending Tuesday Shuffle.  First of all disclosure:  I have been receiving so much new music lately that I decided to create a new playlist featuring a bunch of that new music.  I will be using this playlist in place of the Trending Tuesday and Featured Friday playlist for the foreseeable future.  Readers will not detect any changes - but I did want to let you know about the change...

"Crybaby" by Brian Wright

We start off with another track from the new Brian Wright album - The Sneak-ups.  Brian Wright will be at City Winery in Nashville with Andrew Combs and Willie Tea Taylor - 8:00pm.

"Evergreen Avenue" by Darryl Purpose

I am really, really digging Still the Birds - the relatively new album from Darryl Purpose. He has such a smooth vocal delivery that belies the depth of his lyrics.  Good stuff.

"Get Low" by Millar Jukes and the Bandits

From the EP - Chase the Sun.  Millar Jukes is from Melbourne, Australia by way of Scotland.  Check it out.

"Souvenir Mary" by Dingzui

From the album Analogue by this Nashville band. This track features Amanda Broadway. Analogue is a really good album - please check it out. Love this track.

"Love on the Rocks" by Gabrielle Louise with Megan Burtt

When I received the CD - If the Static Clears - in the mail, and read the information included, I knew before listening that it was going to be something special. Gabrielle Louise is from Denver, CO.  It is Americana/folk/roots music, but I think it is so much more than those terms may indicate..  This is our first listen, and I really love the darkly beautiful sound.  Louise is in the middle of a Kickstarter campaign to print and press the album.  And be sure to check out the amazing video (a different song) in the playlist below - music and physics and wow!

"Like Oxygen" by The Vondrukes

Another listen from the album On This Ride Together which will be released Saturday August 27 - with a CD Release show at Off Broadway in St. Louis.  Digging this album.

"What You Wanted" by Everlost

Out first listen from the album Live and Let Go by Everlost - an alternative rock solo project from Orlando, Florida.  Jared Kay of Everlost recently organized a benefit for the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting victims.

"Jump" by Luella

Next up, we have Luella's take on a Jessie Mae Hemphill song. A couple of notes about the video: Tim Carroll on guitar, Justin Amaral on drums, Cameron Carrus on bass and leading the audience in "The Hot Dog" - an integral part of Luella's version of this song, and special guest Reeves Gabrels (David Bowie, The Cure) on guitar. "Let's get the rhythm of the head..."

"All is Well" by John Paul Daniel

And we close out the shuffle with our first listen (and the title track) of All is Well by local musician and folk artist John Paul Daniel of Kingston Springs.  You may have seen his art at the Tomato Art Fest. Check it out at HERE.  Digging this album.
