Trending Tuesday Morning Shuffle - Yesterday's Just a Song Mix

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

All right. I am not backing down from talking about this corrupt and dangerous administration. But, I am taking a brief timeout.  I had a kind of crappy day yesterday, and I just don't have it in me today to be freshly outraged. To all who resist, keep fighting, and I will rejoin you very soon.  I just need a respite into music for a bit to recharge my batteries.

Last night, "Earie" Award Winner Taylor Alexander's blind audition for The Voice was aired.  He absolutely blew it out of the water with a surprise country cover of Cher's "Believe" that captured everyone's attention.  He is going to be on Adam's team this season.  Here is the video which has been viewed over 200,000 times.  Super proud of Taylor!

On Tuesdays, we spin music from our "New Music" playlist that consists of music generally released in the past year up to and including tracks from not-yet-released albums.   Let's see what the shuffle has in store for us today....

"Green River Valley" by Crackerboots

We start with a pastoral track from Crackerboots - most recent recording - Love, Crackerboots.  This song was on their self-titled album.  They have been in the studo, so expect new music soon, and check them out just about every Saturday at The Family Wash.

"When It Don't Come Easy" by Vanessa Collier

Next, we have another track from blues singer, songwriter, sax player, Vanessa Collier from her album Meeting my Shadow which is due out later this month.

"One" by Corky Siegel's Chamber Blues

Different Voices - the new album from Corky Siegel's Chamber Blues is not due out until early April.  This is truly innovative music - combining classical influences with gritty blues harmonica playing.  As the title suggests, the album features several different featured vocalists - included Matthew Santos on this track.

"Rock and Roll Comes to You" by Tim Carroll

From It's All Politics - the latest release from Tim Carroll.  Rock and Roll comes to you, but you have to go to The 5 Spot every Friday for Tim Carroll's Rock and Roll Happy Hour.

"Just Like the Animals" by SeepeopleS

SeepeopleS are from Maine. They were formed in 2000. They will be releasing their latest EP HATE (which is part of a trilogy (LOVE/HATE/LIVE) on April 1. Their tour starts this week and includes a Nashville date on April 26. They purposely eschew genre definition - which is cool with me.  This is the first single from the new EP and my first exposure to this band. I like what I am hearing.

"Bad Attitude" by Tim Lee 3

Tim and Susan Lee's band BARK are working on their full-length debut album now. BARK will be in Nashville Friday at Dee's Country Cocktail Lounge. This is a track from the final (at least for a while) Tim Lee 3 album Tin. Man.

"Top of the Hill" by Reckless Johnny Wales

Another one from 5 Star Meat and Three is up next.  Reckless Johnny has a way with words.

"Galloping Horses" by Corky Siegel's Chamber Blues

How about another one from Different Voices. According to the YouTube clip, this track is alternatively called "Chinese Folk Song" or else it is a Chinese folk song... or something.  Really happy that I get the chance to hear music like this.

"What Am I Gonna Do (With You)" by Kingsley Flood

We close things out with a track for Another Other - the latest album by Boston/Washington DC band Kinglsey Flood. Digging on this music.
