Trending Tuesday Morning Shuffle - Smells Like Steel Reserve Mix

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

Well... if you ever wondered what it would be like to live in a country with a delusional lunatic in charge, you don't have to wonder anymore... For those who cannot look past their biases and party loyalty to see the current situation for the insanity it is... you, too, will be remembered.

Well! The E2TG 6th Anniversary May Residency at The 5 Spot is just a day away!  If you are in Nashville, I hope you can make it out.

It Tuesday, and that means "Trending Tuesday" here at E2TG. We spin songs from our "New Music" playlist  Let's see what comes up today!

"The Other Side To This Life" by Richard Barone

We begin with a track from Richard Barone's Sorrows and Promises: Greenwich Village in the 1960s album.  This track was written by Fred Neil who is maybe best known for writing "Everybody's Talkin'" which was a hit for Harry Nilsson and featured in the film Midnight Cowboy.  This song was recorded by Peter, Paul, and Mary as wells as Jefferson Airplane. Neil was well regarded by musicians - including David Crosby and Bob Dylan.

"Why So Brief" by The Suitcase Junket

Next up, we have a track from Pile Driver - the latest album by The Suitcase Junket - a one-man band based in Massachusetts. Really honored to get the chance to feature this album.

"You and Your Sister" by Swain

Next up, one of my favorite tunes from the self-titled album by Swain.  I played this song on Double Shot a few weeks back.

"Not Huemn" by Ugggy

Ugggy just released STŒND ALŒN (uncollected thots) - his third mixtape release of 2017. This one goes back to the previous release - The Harvest Beat Tape, and it features (if I'm not mistaken) the voice of Timothy Leary.

"Train No. 10-0-5" by The Coal Porters

One of my favorite records last year was The Coal Porters' latest No. 6.  The album is full of gems, and this is one of my personal faves.

"Hard to be Easy" by Luxury Mane

Florida band, Luxury Mane are up next with a track from their latest Lux Runnin' Out.  I've really been digging this band.

"Alabama Loud" by Magpie Thief

Magpie Thief are a North Carolina based duo.  Their most recent album is called Say What You Mean.  I really dig this music, and this song!  A spiritual kin to Lone Justice's "Wait 'Til We Get Home".

"Trailer Park" by The Transcendents

Always good to have The Transcendents in the shuffle. They are an E2TG favorite from New Zealand. This is a track from their latest release called Dirt Songs.

"The Sandhill Crane" by Fendrick and Peck

We close today's shuffle with Fendrick and Peck - who traded Nashville's construction cranes for the feathered variety which provided the title of their latest album.  A nice way to end the morning commute.
