Trending Thursday Morning Shuffle - Nice Italian Dinner Mix

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

Well, this is my last work day of the week - as we head into Easter weekend.  Not expecting to post tomorrow, but you never know.

I added some new music to the "New Music" playlist.  It was up to almost 590 songs before today's post. We knocked out 11 today, and we have some cool music in the shuffle...so let's rock!

"Yr Freaking Out" by Cup

We start things off with a track from Hiccup by Brooklyn band Cup. Cool song. And check out the trippy video in the Video Playlist linked below.

"A Winter Plead" by The Foresters

Next up, we have 2017 E2TG Band of the Year, The Foresters with another track from their most recently released album House Stories. I'm not sure about Connecticut, but here in Nashville it seems like Winter has breathed its last for this year. (knock on wood)

"Roses are Red" by Matt Tanner

Next up, we have a song from the self-titled debut album by Matt Tanner. The album was recorded in Nashville. Tanner is a country singer-songwriter. I don't know much about him, but I believe he is from New Jersey. Check it out.

"Punk" by Bill Eberle

Nashville singer-songwriter Bill Eberle has been a favorite of mine since I first saw him perform. I most recently saw him on a Saturday night at The 5 Spot where he did not disappoint.  He talked about his forthcoming album (he has two singles out "Soft" and "In the City" which you can find on Spotify).  Anyway, I managed to snag a preview of the album, and it is great. Eberle can switch from slow, introspective songs to a song like this easily. "Punk" lives up to the title. Expect to hear more from Eberle's new album, Soft Light, and stay tuned for information on its release.

"Pearl's Good Time Blues" by Eric Andersen

We have two more tracks from The Essential Eric Andersen (released tomorrow!). The first is another track that was originally on his legendary 1972 album Blue River.

"Say That You Do" by  Lobelia

Next, we have another track from the fabulous Love or Something Like It by UK artist Lobelia. This track is a duet with Steve Szabo who also co-wrote the song, co-produced the album, and plays guitar.

"Be True to You" by Eric Andersen

Our second Eric Andersen track. This one was the title track to his 1975 album. I am enjoying having the chance to explore Andersen's rich and extensive catalog. He deservedly holds a place among the greatest songwriters of our time.

"Our Last Time" by The Nouveaux Honkies

Is it getting Loud in Here? Loud in Here is the latest album by Florida based The Nouveaux Honkies. Tim O'Donnell and Rebecca Dawkins bring attitude and wit to their unique brand of blues-laced honky-tonk music. The album features top-notch guests like Bill Kirchen and Lloyd Maines.

"Dad's Guitar" by Trent Agecoutay

Now...and Then is the current album by Canadian singer-songwriter from Red Deer, Alberta. Agecoutay is a songwriter, musician and entertainer. This album has been a surprising delight. Unfortunately, I don't get to all the e-mails I receive, but I am grateful that I opened this one.

"The Bottle Let Me Down" by Buck N Stuff

Being the Saviors of Country Music is serious business. Let's get that out of the way first.  When you attend a Buck N Stuff performance (and you will), you can expect to be entertained and amused. You may even chortle. While you are laughing, take a minute to appreciate that this is serious stuff.  The highly anticipated debut album by this serious and important band will be released on April 13.  The album is called Saviors of Country Music - Live at the American Legion Post 82. And the band return to Legion on April 12 for the official CD release show. The band's first music video for "My Heart Skips a Beat" debuted this week in Rolling Stone Country. However, it is necessary to point out that E2TG was the major music outlet that first wrote about this band (in the infancy). This song is a 1966 Merle Haggard song (representing the "Stuff" in Buck N Stuff.  And a Buck N Stuff to you as well...

"In Our Tent" by Discount Ravioli

The important thing to know about this track from Baby Arm Session  (we've reached the final ten tracks by the way) is  that this album (like Robin Schultz and the 21 Prayers) was recorded in a tent.  You can listen to this track below. It occurred to me (for no particular reason) that if Discount Ravioli ever do a live show (assuming they haven't) that they should not attempt to recreate any of the music from their albums but should instead just haul a bunch of musical instruments and other stuff on stage and just do what they do).  Anyway that's my two cents.

Have a great weekend everyone and a Happy Easter if that is your thing. Peace!
