All of this happened a long time ago when the world was a very different place. Of course, none of us knew that at the time.

I am continuing to work on my Spotify playlists for E2TG.  So far, I have completed seven - January - Junly2018.  These are meant to be a cross-section of music I featured during those months - not necessarily music released in those months.   If you are interested, you can check out the playlists (links below)  and follow my personal profile to find out when new playlists are created.

E2TG June 2018 NEW!
E2TG July 2018 NEW!

There is something about Tuesday... I know it is cliche to hate Monday and love Friday.  I don't "hate" Tuesday, but here's the thing.  When it is Monday, there is a faint (if false) sense that if you don't like the week, you can turn around and be back in the weekend.  But Tuesday... well, on Tuesday, you are fully embedded in the week, and that glimmer of (false) hope is gone. There is nothing to do but power through...

At least, here at E2TG Tuesday means we dig into our "New Music" playlist and celebrate some of the awesome music that has been sent my way in the recent and sort of recent past.

"Tight Spot" by Dentist

First up is a first listen to Night Swimming - the new album by New Jersey based indie/surf rock/alternative band Dentist. Nothing scary about this Dentist.  Just catchy indie pop music with elements of surf - from the beachfront of Asbury Park.

"Late Night Doors" by The Mouse Outfit (feat. Berry Black, Dubbul O + Ellis Meade)

Next up, the first of two tracks in the shuffle today from Jagged Tooth Crook by Manchester hip hop group The Mouse Outfit - here joined by their frequent collaborators Berry Black, Dubbul O, and Ellis Meade.  I have been digging this album, and this music is an indication of the state of hip hop in Manchester - then the state of hip hop in Manchester is great.

"A Long Cold Summer" by Klammer

Next up, we have a track from You Have Been Processed - the new album from post-punk/dark pop band  Klammer from Leeds, UK. This is original music that evokes the feeling some of the best post-punk bands that came out of the UK in the late 80s to early 90s.  But, it is not dated at all.

"Prison Door" by Mark Huff

Next up, we have a track from Stars for Eyes by Nashville/Las Vegas signer-songwriter Mark Huff.  Huff has been a favorite of mine for a while, and I think this album represents some of his best work yet.

"Strange Stubborn Proud (Extended 12" single remix) (ft. Kurt Harland Larson of Information Society) by ELYXR

I am a music lover, but not really a vinyl freak like some people - however, I can say one good thing about the resurgence of vinyl is the return of the 12" extended single. We previously featured "Strange Stubborn Proud" by the synth heavy outfit ELYXR who are based in Seattle - who team with Kurt Harland Larson of the classic new wave/synth band Information Society.  This is the extended remix of that track and it is glorious synth heavy music.

"Who Knew Me Better Than You?" by Palm Ghosts

In this age of information where everything and everyone is more connected than ever before, it is inevitable that I would get an e-mail from my favorite UK music publicist/promoter and open it to find some awesome new music from friends based right here in Nashville. Palm Ghosts new album is called Architecture, and to be honest, it sounds nothing like Nashville (or at least what most people - even people who know about Nashville's diversity of music - would think Nashville sounds like). Palm Ghosts features our friend Joseph Lekkas. Joe is a busy man. He is one of the main folks behind Flour Sack Cape - which has brought us some awesome music over the years - including one of our most view posts ever - Charlie Hager's These Days video premiere. He also does booking for Green Room Music Source, and he co-owns a recording studio.  If I had received Architecture and been told it was a London based new wave/dream pop etc band - I would have believed it. The band also features Benjamin Jason Douglas - whose own music we have been featuring of late.

"Trigger the Wave" by The Mouse Outfit (ft. Ellis Meade + Dubbul O)

Finally, we close out this Tuesday shuffle with another track from Jagged Tooth Crook - these track also features Ellis Meade and Dubbul O with The Mouse Outfit. Some great sounds to ease me into my work day this morning.
