I'm back, finally.  Since Friday, I have listened to and started posts, but due to some extracurricular activities on my part, I haven't been able to finish the posts.  So, I'm just going to press on and post them one at a time as I finish them.  We will start with our 6th "Earie" post and our recap of June 2018.  In June, E2TG celebrating seven years with a Residency at The 5 Spot in East Nashville.

Let's get right to the shuffle!

"Ballpark" by Bark

E2TG favorites and 2018 Earie Award winners Bark are back with another track from their Year of the Dog album, and this one is going to leave a mark.

"Tornado" by Ben Bostick

Ben Bostick is already and Earie winner, and for June, we have another track from Hellfire. A definite favorite of 2018.

"Modern Day Privateers - Ben Weinman Remix" by ...And We All Die

One of the joys of doing E2TG is discovering new to me music of many different genres.  ... And We All Die was one of my favorite discoveries of the year.  Their Modern Day Privateers single is a timely bit of social commentary, and the extended release contains some really cool remixes of the track. This particular remix is by Ben Weinman of the Dillinger Escape Plan. I am giving ...And We All Die the "Briny Deep" Award for 2018.

"With You Gone" by Bashful Hips

A holdover from 2017.  Long time E2TG favorite Bashful Hips creates his own unique brand of alternative music with elements of hip hop and intelligent, heartfelt, sometimes enigmatic lyrics.  The most recent album, People, Nature, Death features songs about People, Nature, and Death.  Since Bashful popped up in 2018, I am going to give him the "Speak Out Loud"Award.

"It's Not the Money" by Reckless Johnny Wales

Another E2TG favorite, Reckless Johnny Wales - released his latest album in 2018.  Runaway Train of Thoughts.  This time out, Reckless Johnny - who in a past life was a Music Row executive who was responsible for discovering Faith Hill among others - has something to say. This latest album contains some pointed commentary on our times wrapped up in excellent songs. This track features a guest spot by Siri.

"Special Friend" (Tommy Foolhardy cover) by Pat Power

Pat Power returns to the shuffle with another great track from Ontario Gothic - which honors great songwriters from the Canadian province. This time out it's Tommy Foolhardy.

"Slow Down" by Chris J. Connolly

Moving Maps by singer-songwriter Chris J. Connolly is one of those releases which took awhile to pop up in my shuffle. But, it was worth the wait.   Connolly is based in New York State, and I dig his songs and the sounds of his album. I will hand out the "Navigation" award to Chris Connolly.

"Ballad of a Stranger's Heart" by Don Gallardo

Don Gallardo is an East Nashville and E2TG favorite.  A long time part of the East Nashville music community, for his latest album, Still Here, Gallardo  focuses on collaborations with top-notch songwriters, musicians and singers from Nashville. The result is one of the best albums of 2018. I am giving Gallardo the "Collaboration" Award for 2018.
