Trending Tuesday Morning Shuffle - Rolled off the Tongue Mix

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

Fun night at Madison Guild Monday.  Lots of great sets: Steve Noonan (who I had seen on Saturday), Milan Miller, Rob McNurlin, Conrad y Skordalia, Maynard and the Musties. Loved Linda McCrae's cover of "Ashes to Ashes" on Banjo (loved all her music but that cover just knocked me out), Luella and Kevin Gordon doing a set of Gospel songs was transcendent. Some good hangs. I'm dragging a bit today, but it was worth it.

As promised, our preview of the Magnolia Roads American Roots Hoedown IV continues.  Saturday's line-up is stacked. The music starts early and goes until very late.

Here is the schedule:

6:00-6:20 Jenny Van West
6:25-6:45 Bryan Haraway
6:50-7:10 Jason Daniels
7:15-7:35 Mike Younger
7:45-8:30 Jeff Mix & The Songhearts
8:45-9:30 Arkansas Dave
9:45-10:30 Rich Mahan Band
10:45-11:35 Bonnie Blue
11:50 Silent Auction winners announcement
12midnight-1:15 Lady Couch

Stay tuned for more information on the Silent Auction.  There are some very special items that will be up for bid.  All proceeds will go to the Ben Eyestone Fund of the Musician's Health Alliance - which provides vital health care services and resources to people in the music industry.

We jump back into our Trending playlist.  I have a ton of new music to add and I am trying very hard to keep this playlist under 500  songs, so we either have to feature as many as we can or I will need to start moving some older songs out of the playlist.

Let's go!

"Take You Back Home" by Greg Felden

We start things off with our first listen to Made of Strings - the forthcoming debut album by veteran L.A. singer-songwriter Greg Felden.  The album won't be out until June, but check out the first taste in the video playlist.  The album was produced and mixed by Al Sgro and Will Golden.  Among the many talented musicians on the album is Brian Wright - who it happens will be presenting Week 2 of his residency tonight at The 5 Spot.  Made of Strings sounds fantastic. Expect to hear much more in the coming days, weeks, and months.
"Theresa (stripped down mix)" by Cabinet of Millionaires

Next up, we have the stripped down mix of "Theresa" by Cabinet of Millionaires.  We've already featured a couple of other versions of this song - a pointed criticism of the British Prime Minister.

"This Old Garage" by Adam Carroll

Still so excited to have some new Adam Carroll music to share. From I Walked in Them Shoes - is classic Adam Carroll.  A timeless and beautiful song about the communal elements of songwriting.

"Viking" by Tim Carroll

No relation. I thought about this song when  I played Jen Starsinic's coal mining song yesterday.  This is from Tim Carroll's Keeping Time album. The song is one of several newer songs by Carroll that deal with social issues.

"I Hope I Never Meet the Bitch Who Broke Your Heart" by Daphne Lee Martin and Raise the Rent

Scared Fearless is bold statement from Connecticut singer-songwriter Daphne Lee Martin - confronting head-on some of the storms that ripped through her life over the last few years.

"Daggerman" by Dean James and the Black Dogs

Other powerhouse track from TRUTH by UK blues rock band Dean James and the Black Dogs.

"Finding Beauty in Chaos" by Beauty in Chaos (feat. Ashton Nyte)

Next up, we have the title track and the first released single from the album Finding Beauty in Chaos by the L.A. hard rock band Beauty in Chaos. Aston Nyte is a South African born, US based artist. This is a wonderful song.

"Sugar Baby" by Amelia White

We return to Rhythm of the Rain and another great song by Amelia White. One of my favorite albums of 2019.

"Some Fool" by Daphne Lee Martin and Raise the Rent

We close with a second track from Scared Fearless by Daphne Lee Martin and her band Raise the Rent.
