Band of the Week: Year 2, Month 4, Week 1: A Social State

Hailing from Scranton, Pennsylvania - home of The Office, Indie Rock band A Social State went old school on their most recent release. Everyone's Your Friend was recorded live direct to analog tape. This method helped to create the warm and rich sounds of heard on the record. 


One stand out track on the album is Arcadia.  The song begins with a howl of feedback and kicks in with a powerful driving beat and Edward Cuozzo's powerful vocal onslaught.  The song broods and soars all the while being driven forward by the relentless rhythm section.


Dads and Cigarettes is a gentle, almost lilting song and serves to show-off the depth and versatility of this young band.
