Here is an semi-official preview poster of the E2TG 8th Anniversary residency coming up in the Fall. I am excited about this line-up, and there is a slight chance I may have an additional announcement coming soon - or not. Who knows?
Meanwhile, we reached the mid-point of the week. Some time back, I came up with the name "Wild Wednesday" for this day when we don't shuffle from the "New Music/Trending Music" playlist but rather - we shuffle from all of the songs saved to my phone memory. The "Wild" refers to the fact that the songs in this shuffle can be anything (currently featured music, past featured music, all-time favorites, oddities that somehow got saved to my phone at some point in the past for reasons last to time, "classics" from the earliest days of E2TG and more (if that didn't over everything).
Let's go!

All of this happened a long time ago when the world was a very different place. Of course, none of us knew that at the time.
(From The Drift - A Novel by Joe Wolfe-Mazeres) Available at Amazon.com (Kindle edition also available)
If you have read The Drift, please consider writing a review on Amazon. If you haven't read it, you can get your own copy through Amazon or if you are in Nashville, you can get them from me.
I am continuing to work on my Spotify playlists for E2TG. So far, I have completed seven - January - July2018. These are meant to be a cross-section of music I featured during those months - not necessarily music released in those months. If you are interested, you can check out the playlists (links below) and follow my personal profile to find out when new playlists are created.

SAVE THE DATE!!!!! Thursday, November 15, 2018 - We have a pretty cool event in the works. More to come!
After a rather dreary week here in Nashville, the sun is actually shining today. So there's that.
There is a lot going on, and as usual, it is music that is pulling me through. Today is Wednesday - so let's get "Wild"! This is a shuffle from all the songs saved to my phone memory right now.

Fun-filled night at Coverbest at The Beast (The Basement East)... Terry Rickards always does a great job putting those events on... I really dug Matt Haeck doing Tom Waits, Darrin Bradbury doing Modest Mouse, Sarah Potenza doing Gillian Welch, and Tesla Rossa doing Beck... plus lots of inspiring conversations about music and East Nashville and creativity....
Tonight, Fats Kaplin returns to his Thursday Night residency at The 5 Spot - the penultimate week of this month-long (sans St. Patrick's Day) event... I missed two weeks ago, and I do not want to miss this one... It is guaranteed to be some of the best music around and highly entertaining, too.
Later tonight, Chris Scruggs and The Stone Fox Five are playing what I think is their second show since the club that gave them their name closed unexpectedly. They will be at The Country with The Farmer and Adele opening. I have heard a lot about The Farmer and Adele, but I have not seen them yet.
I am off work tomorrow. I may try to do a Featured Friday Shuffle from home, but no promises... stay tuned.
Meanwhile, Thursday - means we throw it back like an undersized fish....

I hesitate to report again about how awesome $2 Tuesdays are at The 5 Spot. Derek Hoke and DJ Tim Hibbs throw a massive weekly party. It cost you just $2 to get in and you can get Yazoo pints for just $2 all night. I hesitate because it was packed out last night, and maybe enough people know about it... but hell. For that $2, every single time I have gone, I have seen and heard some pretty amazing music. Hell, $2 would be cheap just to hear Derek Hoke and his amazing band play a couple of songs. Dead Horses from Wisconsin were awesome, Quinn from here in Nashville (and featuring E2TG Artist of the Year Jon Latham on guitar and BGVs) have an awesome sound. Probably the only complaint I have (and I guess my age is showing) is that I left before the last band played and it was already midnight. But, the young folks love it - ah, I remember... I remember...
Wednesday? What the hell is it? Some call it hump day and celebrate having reached the mid-way through the work week, what does that say about us? 1. We are wishing our lives away and/or 2. We hate our week day existence so much and/or 3. We are optimists (I mean we would say we've toiled away for days and still have days of toil ahead). Who knows? Wednesday are wild! Wild used in the same way as "Jokers Wild". Wednesday can be anything. Or maybe wild used in the sense of wild!
Welcome to the first ever Wild Wednesday Shuffle. Make sure your seatbelts are locked and loaded... or whatever...
Briefly, I loaded this playlist with some of the more experimental songs I have on my phone. Then, I counter-programmed with some older music, some outliers from past shuffles, some of the most unlikely songs in my phone, and then sprinkled in some stuff just 'cause.
Here goes nothing!
