Featured Friday Morning Shuffle - Brat Weekend Mix (Jukebox Heart Remix)

*Note: The video playlist at the bottom of the post attempts to closely approximate the shuffle I listened to on my way to work this morning. When a video for a song was not available, I substituted another song by the same artist. When I could not find any videos by an artist, I included a related video or did not include a video for that track. This blog may reference unreleased tracks, however, no unreleased music is ever included.

This is my last day to remind you to make a donation to the WXNA Pledge Drive, but the drive runs through Sunday.

Time is marching on, and I am getting ready for a soft launch of E2TG version 3.0 soon.  I am going to make some decisions over the weekend about the timing of the changes.  December is historically the month we review the year that is winding down - which we do in the context of our annual awards - The Earies (tagline: They sound odd, but they really aren't)

Let's jump into this shuffle!

AMA Day 3 is in the books.  After working all day, I had some evening shows I really wanted to catch, but I was really tired so I headed home for dinner and a change of close before heading to Mercy Lounge to catch Jeremy Ivey, Christopher Paul Stelling, and Darrin Bradbury at the ANTI- Records showcase. I caught parts of other sets and then made it close to see Aaron Lee Tasjan close out the evening at the Cannery Ballroom. Great sets all around.

Fun Fact: Christopher Paul Stelling was a Featured Artist on E2TG back in November of 2012!

You all know the long connection we have to Darrin Bradbury.

I have become a huge Jeremy Ivey fan Darrin first introduced me to his songs. His debut album on ANTI- came out today.  Darrin's album will be out next Friday. Stelling has an album coming out produced by Ben Harper - with some singles already released.

As for ALT, he gave me a much needed shot of positive energy.

Tonight, I will be representing WXNA and emceeing at the Mercy Lounge all night. A great line-up that includes three towering figures from my formative musical years: Mitch Easter, Don Dixon, and Chris Stamey.

On with the shuffle now!

Made it back to Dee's last night for Madison Guild Monday for the first time in a while. Hosted by Tom Schreck.  Schreck opened with a full band set which he calls Tom Schreck Escapes.  As always great to see Tom play. His cover of "I Will Survive" was especially tasty.  Tommy Womack was next with a surprise solo set.  He will be back at Dee's Friday with a full band. He has a new single which is extremely timely.  Next up, a shared set from two of my long time favorites Kiley Connell and Drew Kohl. They were followed by the always impressive Connor Rand who had Nicole Boggs join him for a few songs. Excellent stuff. By that time, I was exhausted and I had to bow out before Nicole Boggs and the Reel played. Hate that.

I have a busy week of great live music ahead and lots to do otherwise. Plus it is way to hot. But, anyway - Music!  Today we dive back into the Trending playlist and we have some cool tunes for a hot day.

Moving on - I have a bunch more music to add to the playlist, so we need to make some room.

Let's just move into the shuffle without much ado about nothing...

Featured Friday Morning Shuffle - Before the Dawn Mix

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

It is Friday!  It is also the final Shuffle of June - thus the end of the first half of 2019. In my opinion, it was been a great year for music. I am sad for people (often people my age or so) who say there isn't any good music these days - especially when they are friends of mine on Facebook, and I literally post playlists of great music every single day.  Makes me feel like Don Quixote sometimes - but I can't seem to stop tilting at windmills.

Anyway, I have another great list to counter the "no good new music" crowd!  Enjoy!
