Trending Tuesday Morning Shuffle - Wrong Number Mix

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

Moving on - I have a bunch more music to add to the playlist, so we need to make some room.

Let's just move into the shuffle without much ado about nothing...

"Food Court" by Neutrals

Next up, some more nifty punk rock sounds from the Bay Area of California by way of Scotland.  Neutrals album Kebab Disco is out and ready for your enjoyment.  To be honest, now that most malls don't have bookstores or record stores, the food court is about all there is of interest to me - well, that and Spencer's (if they are still there - I really don't know) I was always a sucker for silly, in-bad-taste novelties.

"It's a Beautiful Night" by Reckless Johnny Wales

E2TG favorite Reckless Johnny is back with another from his latest collection - End It With a Love Song.  It's a beautiful song about a "Beautiful Night".

"The Hurt Business" by Big Evil

More from Nashville's newest loud band - Big Evil which we first played late last week. This time out with have some screaming guitars and more.  No videos for Big Evil yet - that I could find- so I picked an old Ben de la Cour video featuring some familiar faces - including Charlie Hager who was the subject of E2TG's most view post ever.  Hager's "These Days" Video Premiere from May 2016 continues to get around 500 views every month.  Charlie Hager isn't in Big Evil - I just know he and Ben de la Cour always speak fondly of each other so I am mentioning that now and pretty much making this post about Charlie Hager even though the song is by Big Evil (and it's a cool song, too).  So I better embed the song here to make up for it.

"80 John Wallace" by Rod Picott

We are about seventeen days from the official release of Rod Picott's new album Tell the Truth and Shame the Devil.  This album is so good.  Since the music isn't ready to be shared, I have been posting various older Rod Picott videos (all or almost all shot by the one and only Stacie Huckeba. Enjoy.  July 19 is that release date - which is also the birthdays of my daughters.

"Minxed Driks" by Ernest Moon

No YouTube, I did not mean Mixed Drinks. I meant Minxed Driks. Do you have a problem with that?  More cool Liverpudlian pop music from Ba-Jesus the EP by the duo Ernest Moon.

"Wrong Number" by Big Tide

Another Liverpool band (I don't plan this folks), Big Tide's music sounds like it could come from California and it is that fantastic California power pop sound. Dig it!  The album is called Sync or Swim.

"The Sooner I Let Go" by Pete Berwick

One of my favorite albums of the year (came out in January) has been Island by Pete Berwick. Berwick is a veteran cowpunk artist who spent some time in Nashville.  We  are winding down our coverage of this album (we have just one for track to feature), but expect to hear more about it when we get to the end of the year.
"Burley" by Meghan Hayes

Seen Enough Leavers is another favorite album of 2019.  This track (and the album) is not a Sunday walk in the park - emotionally speaking. There is darkness and loss and hurt, but taken in total and in context, it is a triumphant album.  Both Island and Seen Enough Leavers have received well deserved positive reviews from sites that aren't E2TG.  (You can read those other sites, but please come back here every day).

"Let Me Cry" by Steve Conn

Up next, we have another track from Flesh and Bone by veteran musician and sideman (Sonny Landreth, Albert King, Shelby Lynne, Bonnie Raitt, and Levon Helm to name a few) - Louisiana native Conn assembled a stellar ensemble to back him on his latest album which came out back in February.

"Splendors of this Earth" by RJ Chesney

Amateur Revolution by singer-songwriter RJ Chesney is truly international American roots music.  Chesney draws on his experience growing up in the South, the album was recorded between his current home in California and Bergen, Norway - which I know to be an epicenter of roots based music. This album has become a favorite of mine.

"Arrowheads and Porcupine Claws" by Chuck Hawthorne

We close things out with our first listen to the forthcoming new album by Austin Texas based singer-songwriter Chuck Hawthorne.  Fire Out of Stone will be Hawthorne's second album - and it was co-produced by the great Walt Wilkins. Really digging this album so far.  The album is due out July 26.
