Trending Thursday Morning Shuffle - Slo Motion Meaning Mix

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

Got to catch Ryan Sobb last night opening for Becca Neighbor (who was fantastic).  Sobb playing with his power trio with Preston Cochran (bass) and Chase Ballenger (drums) sound better every time I see them.  I am so excited to have them be a part of the E2TG 8th Anniversary Residency on October 2 at The 5 Spot. Jason Erie and his band will also be on the bill that night making it a night you will not want to miss.

Now, it's time to jump back into our "Trending/New Music playlist"  I loaded up with more new music last night. I broke my own rule and left the list at slightly more than 500 songs, but I will have it down to 500 by the end of the weekend.

Let's just jump to it!

"Slo Motion Killer" by Ariana Gillis

We start things off with one of the new additions, and our first listen to The Maze by singer-songwriter Ariana Gillis.  The album was recorded in Nashville and produced by Buddy Miller.  This is a great sounding record, and I am happy to have it in my line-up.  Much more to come.

"Everything I Hate About American Cities" by Sonic Reducers

Next up, we have another track from the self-titled debut album by Ithaca, New York based punk band Sonic Reducers. As I mentioned before, Sonic Reducers features Luke Slomba (who have previously heard as part of The Foresters, Discount Ravioli, and Flavored Cardboard - among others).

"The Meaning of Life" by Rusty Reid

Next up, we have another new addition and another first listen... this time we have Seattle (by way of Texas) singer-songwriter from his new album Head to Heart.  The album is comprised of 18 songs coming in at over 80 minutes of music. It is an ambitious project from the songwriter whose songs tackle the big questions of our time - political, spiritual, and philosophical.

"It's a Mistake" by LuckyandLove

Next up, we have another track from Transitions - the latest release from L.A. synthwave band LuckyandLove

"I Smoke Pot" by Rich Mahan

There isn't much that Nashville singer-songwriter hasn't done, and he tells us all about on this track from his new album Hot Chicken Wisdom.  One of my favorite albums of the year for sure.

"Get Out of Here" by RJ Cowdery

What If This Is All There Is - the new album from Columbus, Ohio based singer-songwriter RJ Cowdery was produced by Nashville's own Amy Speace and engineered, recorded, and mixed by Thomm Jutz at his studio. This is a beautiful album, and another favorite of mind from this year.  This really has been a great year for music.
"Illusions Shine Like Gold" by Paul Den Heyer

Next up, we have our second listen to Everything So Far by Liverpool based indie pop artist Paul Den Heyer.  A really wonderful sounding album.

"Banks of Banglampoo" by Bill Bloomer

We are now just over two weeks away from the release of Bounty by E2TG favorite Bill Bloomer. Bloomer was already a favorite, and this album is just going to solidify and expand that feeling.  This time he is writing about a neighborhood in Bangkok, Thailand.

"I Will Fight No More Forever" by Chuck Hawthorne

We close things out with another track from Fire Out of Stone - the new album from Texas songwriter Chuck Hawthorne.  This album will be out in just over one week, and it is sure to be one of my favorites.
