24. "Cool California" by Wet Tropics

Chicago-based indie punk band who recently issued their debut album on vinyl. The album was first released and sold out on cassette in November of last year. The album is called Everybody Get In

25. "Isla" by Film School

One of two recent single from the California indie rock band that first formed in 1998.

26. "Cinnamon Toast" by Lenny

Lenny, an indie folk/pop singer from British Columbia, returns to the Playlist with a track from her debut EP Personal Celebrity. 

27. "I Love You Maybe" by Memoryy

Next up, a song written for a Madonna-themed documentary called Smelly Little Town. 

28. "Free of This Disease" by Jai Agnish

And, we close this penultimate section of the playlist with a track from this New Jersey-based indie/electro artist. A great way to close us out for the day.

The latest release from the Swedish artist - a cover of a 1966 song by Swedish folk legend Mats Paulson. A lovely instrumental. 

17. "Rhosod" by Lleuwen

Next up, we the latest single from this Welsh singer-songwriter - as the Welsh takeover of E2TG gains steam. 

18. "Et oo suudellut kymmeneen vuoteen" by Gim Kordon

And we close this set with the latest single from this Finnish band from Helsinki whose name is a reference to the bassist of Sonic Youth.

Monday Morning Music Shuffle - Producer with Computers Mix

Well, it's Monday.  This morning we have eight songs that cross over genre lines, decades and degrees of popularity/obscurity/awesomeness. Taken individually, the songs featured are sure to evoke feelings of nostalgia, joy, revulsion and confusion. Put together as a single shuffle, they are sure to amaze and amuse in equal measure.  Oh heck, here's the shuffle dig on it if you will....  Jump first!

Friday Morning Music Shuffle - 24 Carat Gold Tears of a Rapper Mix

Ah... Record Store Day is nigh. Get thee to a Record Store near you and show some brick and mortar love.  If you are in or around Nashville, I'll be hanging out around Grimey's most of the day, so come down and join me.

I have tons to do today, so I will jump right into the morning shuffle:


If all I knew about Skeletons in the Piano is that they've been playing some shows with our good friends, The End Men, well, that in and of itself would denote the awesomeness of this band from Upstate New York. Fortunately, I have had that assessment confirmed with the ample evidence which is their music. They have a new video which is a cover of Eleanor Rigby .  Which I know you can find with my help, but oh what the hell...

Today's song is from the Band's Stranger On a Damned Staircase album. The song is The Old Hound Dog.

  

We move on now... to the always Chan Marshall who records as Cat Power.  Today's song is the title track from her 2006 album (a collaboration with several Memphis R&B musicians). The Greatest is a subtle, tender song that showcases Cat Power's unique voice.

 

Song number three is the hilarious Hurt Feelings by New Zealand Comedy duo Flight of the Conchords. It's off of their 2009 second album, I Told You I Was Freaky.

 

And finally, we close out today's shuffle with Danish punk rockers, Iceage with the title track from their debut album from last year called New Brigade. I love the old school punk rock being infused with fresh, new energy.
