"Crawling Away" by Hadnot Creek (from Hard World - 2020)
First up, we go back to late 2020 and this released from this Charlottesville, Virginia based folk rock group.
"Beautiful & Blue" by Robert Gay & the Alarms (from Atlas [2009-2011] - 2011)
Next, the shuffle takes us back to this 2011 release from long running East Nashville band Robert Gay and the Alarms. Gay is also a trumpet player, who can frequently be found around town - most recently with Lady Couch.
"Open Wound Heart (feat. Cinthya Hussey)" by Beauty in Chaos (from Behind the Veil - 2022)
Musician Michael Ciravolo's on-going project Beauty in Chaos is known for it's use of guest artists from the worlds of alternative music. For the latest release, Beauty in Chaos uses all female vocalists - including this track with Brazilian singer-songwriter, and actress Cinthya Hussey.
"Pygmalion" by Helen America (from Red Sun - 2019)
Helen America is a freak folk singer-songwriter and an underground comic book artist from Seatlle. This is a track from her 2019 release.
"Faith is Believin'" by John Rey-Reed (from Learnin' to Drive The Truck - 2016)
I met singer-songwriter John Rey-Reed at a Christmas party in the pre-COVID days, and that was when I got this album. I lost track of him since then, but we have enjoyed playing songs from this album.
"Higher Ground" by Laurence Jones (from Take Me High - 2016)
Laurence Jones is a young blues rock guitarist from the UK. This goes back to his 2016 release and his cover of the Stevie Wonder song - which was also covered by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
"Jakfox" by Freaks for Geeks (from TIN - 2016)
Also from 2016, we have a track from the third EP by this Chicago band. I remember this being a favorite of mine from that year.
"Baba Yaga" by The Room in the Wood (from The Room in The Wood - 2018)
And, we close with a track from the 2018 debut album by this Liverpool based band. A great way to take us out.
