E2TG 2/18/2020 - Stuff - Gimme a Beer Mix (Public Image Remix)

Stuff:

I am back after an extended weekend.  I went out of town this weekend, got back yesterday and immediately went to a show. So, I don't have a ton of new content today. ICYMI, check out the Featured Friday Playlist that refreshed on Friday.

I caught Jesse Dayton, The Mastersons, and India Ramey last night at City Winery (it was a show sponsored by a radio station that is not the one I am on).  Three great sets.

Let's see. My second show of Greetings from Nashville is coming up on WXNA Thursday morning.

On Double Shot this Saturday, also on WXNA, we revisit the Instrument focused show on Pianos.

I listened to an audio book on my drive this weekend that was music related.  Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid - is a fictional account of a Seventies rock band - told via interviews with the band members and other people associated with the band.  It was really enjoyable.  The audio book was a full cast recording.

More to come!

Featured Friday Morning Shuffle - Little Kitty Pile Mix

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

*Note: The video playlist at the bottom of the post attempts to closely approximate the shuffle I listened to on my way to work this morning. When a video for a song was not available, I substituted another song by the same artist. When I could not find any videos by an artist, I included a related video or did not include a video for that track. This blog may reference unreleased tracks, however, no unreleased music is ever included.

Fun show at The Basement last night. Nashville's Sad Baxter opened - we have featured them several times on Music City Monday.

Followed by Summer Cannibals from Portland, Oregon - led by my cousin Jessica Boudreaux.

Both high energy, rocking sets.

Well, this is it!  Last shuffle before I take a bit of break.  Look for a post on Monday (if all goes as expected).

Next weekend, I am off to Muddy Roots and hope to have some cool stuff to share about that experience.

Now, here is a Featured Friday shuffle to close things out!

Trending Tuesday Morning Shuffle - 20th Century Bitch Mix

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

Today - June 4 marks the 3rd Anniversary of Nashville's independent, community-oriented, listener supported radio station, WXNA, officially hitting the airwaves. It has been a heady three years, and I need to point out that the stations founders worked for five years to make it happen.

Happy Birthday WXNA!

It is Tuesday, and time to dive right into our Trending Tuesday playlist!

Trending Thursday Morning Shuffle - Earworm Mix

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

Last night, I attended the CD release show for Josh Gray's Songs of the Highway album - which we have been covering. Jason Erie and his band opened.  The show was held in the backyard of The Groove record store in East Nashville, and it ended up being a picture perfect evening for an outdoor show.  Josh and Jason are two of my favorite local songwriters, they both were backed by killer bands, and they both have released excellent albums in recent months/weeks.

We jump back into the Trending playlist and we have a pretty cool mix of songs today...
