E2TG 10/29/2021 - Featured Friday - Painful Truth Mix (Shadow Hunters Remix)

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

And just like that, we have reached the end of another week, and that means Featured Friday is back and that means, we have a brand new Featured Friday Playlist - this week's playlist includes mostly songs/albums released this week and last week as well as the usual songs from the last month or so that just reached our ears over the past two weeks.  Let's go!

Last night, I had the opportunity to check out the new Eastside Bowl - which for those of you who don't know is a new bowling alley, music venue, restaurant in Madison.  Last night's event was a multi-media event - They Came to Rock! - an alien music extravaganza - that was entertaining and fun.

The music featured Anne McCue, Jamie Rubin, and others - plus guest Brian Wright. Featuring songs by Wright, Dave Coleman and more. Plus Wild Pony Telisha was part of the dance crew.

Please check out the new Playlist below and support the artists you dig. We highlight ten of the songs below- but all of the songs are top-notch.

E2TG 10/27/2021 - Midweek Blunderings - Aliso Mix (Clarity Remix)

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

We reached the mid-point of the week.  Last night, I made it out to Dee's for the latest edition of Darrin Bradbury's on-going songwriter's night - this week featured Alec Lang (who is pretty new to town and who I enjoyed), Angela Autumn (who was fantastic), and the always great Chelsea Lovitt. Plus Darrin and Irakli Gabriel who played a fun, loose set.

Then, I headed over to The 5 Spot to catch the latest Swill TV - Live show - featuring the 9th episode of the music video series.  The live show featured performances by Caleb Hayden Christopher - a bartender at The 5 Spot making his stage debut at the venue - his songs were great and his stage presence was fantastic, Sophie and the Broken Things - who I caught one year ago on a livestream and who I have played on the radio.  Sophie's band included the multi-talented Dave Coleman and drummer Lemmy Hayes (Buck 'N' Stuff), and long-time E2TG favorite Tom Schreck with rare appearance of his band Tom Schreck Escapes!

Tomorrow - catch the next edition of Greetings from Nashville - with a collection of songs that seem to fit the Halloween season.

E2TG 10/25/2021 - Music City Monday - Drinking to Forget Mix (Terrier Remix)

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

And we are back!  I invite to check out the Featured Friday Playlist - I am letting last week's list continue on for this week, and I will work on an update for Friday.

I am still formulating a plan to allow E2TG to be more sustainable to my schedule/time while still featuring as much new music as I can. I will likely be phasing into the new format over the next couple of months - as we wind down 2021, prepare for the holidays, and look to 2022.

Yesterday, I headed to Dee's Country Cocktail Lounge as they are celebrating their 5th Anniversary.  The afternoon was filled with good people and great music from Sally Jaye, Darrin Bradbury and Irakli Gabriel, Jon Latham, Allen and Keshia of Lady Couch, and Brian Wright.   A great time was had by all and money was raised for SAFPAW

DJubilee (I) will be returning to the airwaves this week with a couple of "Halloween" themed shows (songs about scary things or that sound like they might be).  Tuesday on Ear to the Ground radio - mostly all-new music (mostly from the past few months) with themes related to Zombies, Ghosts, etc.  Thursday on Greetings from Nashville, we have an hour of local Nashville music - past and present with similar themes.    Both shows begin at 6am only on WXNA 101.5 or wxnafm.org

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

So as previously reported, I will taking break next week and then I will try to get back on track, but I am also contemplating another upgrade to E2TG (version 4.0 maybe?) so this break may be a time to do that.  In the meantime, we do have a new Featured Friday Playlist for your enjoyment.   Please check it out.  And the usual disclaimers and suggestions apply:  Support the independent artists you like in a tangible way.

The first twelve songs are recapped below, but there is great stuff throughout the whole list - so check it all out.
