All my life, I have been no good when I am anticipating something. Like, if I have somewhere to go at 8, I can be okay most of the day, but then at some point, I become consumed with getting ready or at least thinking about getting ready, I am tend to avoid doing things that I would more than likely have time to do.
The same with a trip - when I have a trip coming up, and I have a hard time concentrating on anything else... and it is not like I am over prepared for the trip - I still procrastinate getting packed or whatever....
When I was a kid - Christmas, birthdays were the same thing - or if I ordered something - I could never put it out of my mind and then be surprised when it arrived - no - if the order form said 6-8 weeks, I knew exactly when six weeks was and from week six to week eight I was constantly on the look out.
So yeah, I'm getting ready for a trip....

First up in the shuffle today, we have a track from the recently released remastered version of the self-title album from the LA based post punk project of songwriter Vince Grant.
"Tranceaphone" by Victor DeLorenzo (from Tranceaphone EP - 2020)
Next up, we have an early 2020 release and the first solo release in seven years from the original drummer with Violent Femmes who is also one half of the chamber rock duo Nineteen Thirteen.
"MIA" by Dennis Dalcin (from The Incomplete Completeness - 2021)
Next, we have our first listen to the career retrospective of veteran garage rocker Dennis Dalcin (which covers 1977-1996). Dalcin's career began in 1972 with a band called Bite. He then formed The Look in 1974, The Shades in 1976 followed by a variety of other bands and projects.
"Pass Me By" by Bridge 19 (from In the Afterglow - 2019)
Next up, we have a 2019 release from this Louisville, Kentucky based Americana band - a favorite of that year.
"Delirious Intuition" by The Pull of Autumn (from Small Colors - 2020)
The Pull of Autumn is an art rock collective based between Boston and Rhode Island and featuring former members of bands who recorded on 4AD and Rough Trade records among others. This is from a fall 2020 release - we had also featured an earlier release by the band.
"Bikini Paradise" by Melting Mallows (from Something Sweet - 2021)
And we close things out today with a track from the debut album by this Belgian band which was released earlier this year. A fun track to close out the day.
