We begin our short week at E2TG. I will be off Thursday and Friday - so I'm extending the recap of the Featured Friday Playlist through next week - so look for about four songs per day on the recap. 

Featured Friday Playlist recap Part 2 (songs 6-9):

6. "Smashing" by Xelfiy

We start off this segment of music with the latest release from this young, independent hip hop artist, who we first featured late last year. A cool track. 

7. "Resolutions" by Garrett Wieland

Next up, we have a track from the just released second album, What Keeps The Heart Afloat from this Texas songwriter. This song is about new beginnings and was written on New Years Eve.  

8. "Sawed in Half" by Pearls & Bones

Next up, we have a track from the album Cool Uncles by the alternative hip-hop band based in Toronto and Montreal.  The band formed in 2012 and employs a variety of divergent styles to create their sound. This lyrically brutal, musically pleasant track was inspired by the film Kill Bill. 

9. "Drug My Soul" by Soda Cracker Jesus

And, we close out this segment of music with the second single from this Seattle based project of musician Regan Lane - who has been an active part of the Northwest music scene for many years.  A great track to take us out today.

Music City Monday Shuffle

"O' Magnolia" by Afton Wolfe (from Kings for Sale - 2021)

We start our Music City Monday part of the post with a fantastic song from the brand new album by Afton Wolfe. There is an epic feeling to this song which delivers a powerful message. 

"I Love You Anyway" by Tim Carroll (from Keeping Time - 2018)

A 2018 release from the prolific East Nashville songwriter who will be restarting his long-running Rock and Roll Happy Hour this Friday. Sadly, I will be out of town, but I cannot wait for this to be a regular part of my routine. 

"Wide Awake and Waiting" by Palm Ghosts (from Wide Awake and Waiting EP - 2020)

Coincidentally, this song came up just a few days before it will be featured on the CBS television series Clarice (based upon Silence of the Lambs).  I am super excited for this highly original Nashville band featuring Joseph Lekkas and Ben Douglas. 

"If It Ain't Broke (Don't Fix It)" by Webb Wilder (from Mississippi Moderne - 2015)

Next up, the last of the full grown men from his electrifying 2015 album. 

"Arc Light City" by The Blam Blams (from Opening Night - 2020)

The Blam Blams are emerging from the pandemic with some line-up changes - this takes us back to their 2020 concept album. 

"The Wanderer" by Don Gallardo (from In the Name of Good Intentions - 2019)

And, we close out this week's Music City Monday shuffle with E2TG favorite Don Gallardo from his 2019 album which featured Lilly Winwood on several tracks.
