Wild Wednesday Morning Shuffle - Ooom Ba Pa Room Mix

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

Onward and upward.  It is Wednesday, and that is the day things tend to get "wild" at E2TG. I call it Wild Wednesday - just because the shuffle comes from all of songs saved to my phone.  That means you might hear recent music that we have been featuring, past featured music, songs from my personal collection, random music files I got through various sources, plus some songs from the earliest days of E2TG, and sometimes songs that I have no clue how they came to be in my possession.   Let's jump right in!

"No Image" by Whispering Sons

First up, we have the first of two tracks from the full-length debut album by Swedish post-punk band Whispering Songs.  The album is called Image, and this track is called "No Image".

"Riot (Coda)" by Mark Bryson

Next up, we have New Age Space Cowboy Surf Poet - Mark Bryson - with the brief Coda to his album Riot on Sunset - which we featured late last year.

"No Time" by Whispering Sons

Track number two from Image.  First we had, "No Image" next we have "No Time".

"Yeah, no" by Bay Kee (ft. Josh Parris)

Next up, we have one from the archives - this is a track from the 2016 album Wonder Wild by New Jersey band Bay Kee.  This was one of the bands we connected with through Mama Coco's Funky Kitchen in Brooklyn.

"Surprise" by Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real

Next up, we have a track from Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real from their 2016 album Something Real.  Nelson is the son of Willie Nelson and the band has been Neil Young's backing band for the past few years.

"All the Way" by Adam Carroll

Next up, we have Texas singer-songwriter Adam Carroll from his 2005 album Far Away Blues.  We have been featuring Carroll's excellent new album I Walked in Them Shoes. As I have been saying and will continue to say until everyone knows it - Adam Carroll is among the top tier of active songwriters.

"Phoenix Out Take (Ooom Ba Pa Room)" by Artie Tobia

The funny thing about my random shuffles is that I don't pick which tracks come up and when they do.  So, our first listen to New York state singer-songwriter Artie Tobia and his recent Driven album is this silly studio outtake from one of the album's singles - called "Phoenix".  We will have more to come on this album.

"Passagio" by Pat Power

More Bach - from our friend Pat Power of his Classical Vol. 1 album.  Since, I don't have videos of these tracks, I have been finding old videos of Power playing classical guitar. Today's track is about eleven years old.   But, in case you want to hear a bit of the selection I heard today - take a listen.

"Locomotion" by Left of Logic

Next up, another from our archives.  This is a track from the 2012 album In Formation by the Philadelphia electronic band - Left of Logic. We featured this album way back in the early days of E2TG .

"It's OK" by Fine Young Cannibals

Next up, we have a track from The Raw and the Cooked - the second and final studio album (1989) by the British band that featured Andy Cox and David Steele (both former members of The Beat) and vocalist Roland Gift - who had been a member of the ska band Akrylykz.

"Don't Mess With Cupid" by Walter Lure and the Waldos

And we close things out with a track from Wacka Lacka Boom Bop A Loom Bam Boo by Walter Lure - who was a member of the Johnny Thunders Heartbreakers. Lure works as a stock broker when he is not making rock and roll music.
