E2TG 4/25/2022 - Music City Monday - Don't Let Me Fall Mix (Honky Tonking Remix)

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

Magnolia Roads
American Roots Hoedown VII

This years Hoedown is almost upon us.  Three nights, three venues, over 25 different artists.

Night 2 - the Hoedown returns to it's roots at The 5 Spot in East Nashville.   One of the featured performers for Night 2 is Chip Greene.

Raised on the southern outskirts of Nashville, Chip Greene grew up with a very different kind of Music City looming in the distance. The construction cranes and high-rise condos— now a ubiquitous part of Nashville’s ever-growing skyline — wouldn’t pierce the horizon for another decade or more, and creative-minded people were still in charge. It was there, in a city fueled by art and filled with starry-eyed musicians, that Greene launched his career as a piano-pounding songwriter, reshaping the influences of his childhood — including Billy Joel, Charlie Rich, U2, and Bruce Springsteen — into his own brand of smoky, salt-of-the-earth rock & roll.

Today's Music City Monday playlist covers songs spanning a decade of Nashville music representing a variety of genres.

E2TG 10/29/2021 - Featured Friday - Painful Truth Mix (Shadow Hunters Remix)

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

And just like that, we have reached the end of another week, and that means Featured Friday is back and that means, we have a brand new Featured Friday Playlist - this week's playlist includes mostly songs/albums released this week and last week as well as the usual songs from the last month or so that just reached our ears over the past two weeks.  Let's go!

Last night, I had the opportunity to check out the new Eastside Bowl - which for those of you who don't know is a new bowling alley, music venue, restaurant in Madison.  Last night's event was a multi-media event - They Came to Rock! - an alien music extravaganza - that was entertaining and fun.

The music featured Anne McCue, Jamie Rubin, and others - plus guest Brian Wright. Featuring songs by Wright, Dave Coleman and more. Plus Wild Pony Telisha was part of the dance crew.

Please check out the new Playlist below and support the artists you dig. We highlight ten of the songs below- but all of the songs are top-notch.

E2TG 10/15/2021 - Featured Friday (pre-break) - Ska Song Remix (Burning Blues Remix)

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

So as previously reported, I will taking break next week and then I will try to get back on track, but I am also contemplating another upgrade to E2TG (version 4.0 maybe?) so this break may be a time to do that.  In the meantime, we do have a new Featured Friday Playlist for your enjoyment.   Please check it out.  And the usual disclaimers and suggestions apply:  Support the independent artists you like in a tangible way.

The first twelve songs are recapped below, but there is great stuff throughout the whole list - so check it all out.
