Next up, we have a track from Good Company (due out Friday) the new album by this Dallas based band. 

19. "Cocoon" by Annie Booth

And we close this brief segment of music with the lead single from the forthcoming second album Lazybody (due out Novemeber 19) by this Scottish singer-songwriter.

Featured Friday Playlist recap (part 3) (songs 17-23):

17. "More of You" by Boyracer

First up today, we have a track from Assuaged - the 14th studio album from the UK indie pop band that formed in 1990.

18. "One Thing I Know" by Arkells 

Next up, we have the first taste of the upcoming Blink Once album - the sixth from this Canadian band. 

19. "Into the Light" by Stellan Wahlstrom Drift Band

Next up, a single from the Swedish rock/power pop band - which was recorded live to tape in the studio in Stockholm. 

20. "Alive" by Gavin Murphy Songs

Next up, we have the latest single from this Irish pop/rock artist. 

21. "They're Cutting up Betty's Dress Tonight" by Leo Crandall

Next up, we have the title track from the new album from this Syracuse based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. 

22. "Dimmi di no" by Gionathan

Next up - a summery single from this Italian artist. 

23. "Say I Do" by Jax Anderson

And, we close this segment with part of a double single release from this Detroit based singer-songwriter.  A great way to close out this part of the Playlist.

So, this is how my mind works... I was first thinking about how annoying it is when someone keeps trying to convince you that you should like a particular artist. Like, if in conversation, you say that you don't care for (fill in the band/artist) and someone keeps insisting that you just haven't listened to the right album or that you need to listen again or whatever... 

My next train of thought was to try to justify why people do that... (my theory) deep down, we all want to find ways to connect with other people (though some of us are really bad at it). Music is one way we can connect with others. So when we find someone with similar tastes in music - we may try to build on that connection. So, when we learn that this person with whom we have made a connection don't share our love a favorite artist/band - we may try to "force" that connection - and think they must not have listened or listened properly. 

Then again, some people are just jerks who think their opinion is the only one that matters. :-)

And just like that, it is time to wrap up our recap of this week's Featured Friday Playlist and prepare the way for a brand new playlist coming up around midnight (or tomorrow if I fall asleep early as I have done once before).Songs 17-19

17. "Wintering" by BlackSheepLad

Earlier this week, another track from Sleeping Alone in the Daytime showed up in the daily shuffle, and I teased this track. As a music fan, I have been inspired by the creativity that has come out of this most challenging year. BlackSheepLad (Phil Mellen) has had more than his share of challenges this year, but out of that he has crafted a really wonderful record. 

18. "Coming Home" by Lady Buds

First of all, I challenge anyone to try to type Lady Buds without at least once typing Lady Bugs.  But anyway, Lady Buds are a Liverpool-based duo who are described as travelling indie/folk urban new age rock.  This is the opening track from their new album From the Cities.... to the Shores.  By the way, I wasn't sure I understood all those descriptors/genres, but upon listening it actually makes sense - in a good way.  This is a really great track. My mind almost makes connections to several different earlier bands/artists, but truly the band as a really unique sound.

19. "Goddess Pt.1" by Shadi G 

Swedish singer-songwriter Shadi G - like Lady Buds - hits on several different sounds and genres to create something unique.  This new single has elements of jazz, r&b, soul, hip-hop, and Persian music. Shadi G has a wonderful voice. She also formed her own record label in 2017.  I always say, I like to end each playlist with some of the most interesting music in the Playlist, and all I can say is mission accomplished this week. 

This week's list was shorter than previous weeks, but it was not short on great songs. Every week, I look forward to discovering some great new (to me) artists and catching up with some old (to me) favorites.  It is my sincere hope that those who check out E2TG or even just peruse the Playlist will discover some new favorites.

A little short on time.  Just a quick reminder to vote and encourage your friends to vote. Also, I know that yesterday, I said I was done joking about this stuff- but I mean, come on, that fly!

Wow! I can't believe it is already time to wrap up our recap of this week's Playlist - but it is... time to make way for a brand new playlist tomorrow....  Today, though, songs 21-24 - I always like to save some the most interesting selections for the end of the playlist. 

21. "I Know You" by Mantis & the Prayer

We start with a track from Murder Ballad and the Blue a AA single from Melbourne based trio Mantis & the Prayer. The band released their first album in 2016. This was my first exposure to them, and I was impressed. Cool stuff. 

22. "Heart Land" by Gold Hick

Next up, we previously featured a single from UK artist Gold Hick. Now, the album Formed At Depth is out. When I first featured Gold Hick, I was unaware that he is a part of the band Broads who we featured heavily in recent years.  I am glad that, even though I didn't realize that connection, I connected with this artist.  Really interesting music. 

23. "Afterglow" by The Sea at Midnight

We have featured several tracks by L.A. based post punk artist The Sea at Midnight - which is the project of singer-songwriter Vince Grant. This is the latest single and a great song. 

24. "Impact" by The Subtheory

Andy Hill is an electronic music artist who divides his time between L.A. and the UK. This is the title track from the new EP, and a wonderful way to close out this Playlist!

I said quite a bit in yesterday's post (posted today), so I will just get on to the music... (More will be said, you can be sure)

And now, let's review songs 19-22 from this week's Featured Friday Playlist:

19.  "It Was Always  Too Late" by Secret Bad Boy

Next up, we have Secret Bad Boy - a Chicago band conceived and led by Ben Joseph of Ezra Furman's band. The song is a synth driven ode to nihilism and the vastness of space. 

20.  "Ghosts" by Idle Noise

The latest single from this indie rock band from Coventry. 

21. "Not My Problem" by Scarlet Drive

New single from this indie rock band from Perth, Australia. The song was recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic between the state boundaries between Perth and Sydney. I really dig this song.  By the way, in searching through my e-mail, I discovered that this band had contacted me a few times going back to 2018, so I am really glad I gave this a listen. 

22. "Background Worry" by Jack Stafford

We close today's review with the new single from British singer-songwriter Jack Stafford. The song captures the negative mental processes that many of go through daily.  A wonderful chamber pop sound, and a great addition to the playlist.
