Moving on- we hop back into your Trending Playlist - with a couple of first and second listens and some recent favorites.  Let's go!

"Last Supper" by Brocarde

Out of the gate, we have a bracing and riveting piece of music with an even more compelling backstory. The story is too long for me to tell here, but I encourage you to seek out the rest of the story. Brocarde grew up in a rural village in the UK.  She was unique in ways that are not always celebrated - especially among the young in rural villages. She created and launched a jewelry line which sought to allow young women to express their individuality.  The jewelry caught the eye of celebrities like Katy Perry and Lady Gaga - but the result was a disconnect between Brocade's vision and reality - (i.e. jewelry used to emulate an idol rather than express one's self). So, she folded the jewelry company, moved to L.A. and dove into uncompromising work that sought to stay true to vision. (This really is a condensed (and probably botched) version of her story. "Last Supper" is a genre-defying track - at once heavy and catchy as hell - it was the first song she wrote upon moving to L.A. An utterly riveting track to start my morning.

"Fall on You" by Def Robot

Next up, we have a first listen to Makers of Mountains - the debut album by British band Def Robot. The band's music is an interesting mix of rock, punk, and Americana influences that I'm digging very music.  More to come!

"Theresa (original)" by Cabinet of Millionaires

We've previously featured a few different remixes of this song, but this the original.  Taken from Vol. 3 of their Theresa releases. An uncompromising criticism of the British prime minister. This volume was released upon the news that May would be resigning - although she is staying in office for the time being.  Needless to day, Cabinet of Millionaires will have something to say about that soon.

"Earthly Sensations" by Bill Bloomer

We are not less than a month away from the official release of Bounty - the new album by the one and only Bill Bloomer.  Bloomer entered into E2TG's radar screens last year with his release Jubilee. I just noticed former Nashville resident Rosa Pullman sings backup on this track - gotta love the small world of music.

"New Lost Generation" by Chuck Hawthorne

I'm not sure how I slept on Chuck Hawthorne until just recently.  I saw he played a house concert at my friend Van's place a few weeks (or so) back and then, I heard his name mentioned on a couple of other fairly recent releases. His latest album Fire Out of Stone is due out July 26.  This is a great song. I may have been late to the station, but I'm glad to be on the Chuck Hawthorne train.

"Swiss" by Neutrals

They may be Neutrals, but they are not Swiss... Oakland California punk rockers Neutrals are back with another track from their Kebab Disco album.  Made me think of Swiss Army Knife I had - what was that Awl for anyway? (rhetorical  question).

"My Song" by Bryan Haraway

Next up, we have another track from the self-titled album by Las Vegas singer-songwriter Bryan Haraway.  I met him back in April at the Magnolia Roads American Roots Hoedown - here in Nashville.  I got hold of this album at that time.  He will be having a record release show in Vegas on July 30.  Great track from a wonderful album.

"The Key" by Josh Hyde

Into the Soul is the second Josh Hyde release that we have been able to feature. The album was produced by Joe V. McMahan  and was recorded on Analog equipment once used by Robert Plant.  The album is rich resonates with a 1970s vibe.

"Stode Harpoon" by Them Airs

A brief noisy instrumental from Them Airs of Connecticut from their album Echo Bomb City - which has been garnering critical praise from the Nutmeg State. The band features members of The Foresters and Smokey the Firebear.

"Sweet Talk" by ESOEBO

Next up, we have another track from ESOEBO VI - the sixth album by Atlanta duo - ESOEBO - (Eclectic Selections of Everything But Opera) which features the sizable talents of Emmylou's band - the Red Dirt Boys (including Will Kimbrough and Phil Madeira).  ESOEBO is Chuck McDowell and Gail Burnett. This album is every bit as good as it seems like it would be, and I really love this track.
