Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

Week 1:  Rayvon Pettis, The Big Dumb, Clark Paterson

Week 2:  The End Men, Ted Drozdowski's Psychedelic Circus, (Special Guest TBA)

Week 3:  Microwave Mountain, The Coal Men, Brian Milligram

And finally, for our fourth and final week, E2TG is pleased to announce that our guests will be!

Eli Cook:  Hailing from Charlottesville, Virginia, Eli Cook's latest album High Dollar Gospel has been getting rave reviews. He is fresh off some dates opening for the legendary Robin Trower.  E2TG is thrilled to have him help close out our 7th Year Anniversary Residency!

Bee Taylor:  One of Nashville's most electrifying artists, Bee Taylor, will be joining us - backed by her stellar band!  Described as a cross between Amy Winehouse and Tom Waits - if you've never seen Bee Taylor live - you have to experience to fully appreciate her power!

Joanna Barbera:  Opening our final week will be one of my favorite local songwriters. Joanna Barbera recently had a song prominently featured in the CBS television series Criminal Minds. Her most recent EP Imago is a favorite of mine. Get there early to catch her set!

Now, it is Friday and time for our Featured Friday shuffle. Guess what, we have another wildly diverse set of songs... so let's do it!

"Cool, Not Unusual Punishment" by Reckless Johnny Wales

E2TG favorite - the man, the myth, the legend: Reckless Johnny Wales with another track from his latest album - Runaway Train of Thoughts. Reckless Johnny has a way with words and an ear for great music - which makes sense given his past life as a Music Row executive who discovered Faith Hill among others.

"Wicked Ways" by James Scott Bullard

For the second day in a row, we have a track from Full-Tilt Boogie by James Scott Bullard. This - lead track - is one of my favorites.  You may have caught it on last week's Double Shot with Joe and Sue - If you missed it, you can listen HERE

"Technocrats" (Pattern Language Remix) by Rodney Cromwell

UK artist Rodney Cromwell first caught our ears with his release Fax Machine Breakup.  He is back with a new album set for release on May 25 called Rodney's English Disco. Being from Nashville, every time I see Rodney Cromwell, I think of Rodney Crowell  - but I just recently realized that Rodney Cromwell is the name of the project - not the name of the person (that would be Adam Cresswell of Saloon and Arthur and Martha).  Cool electronic sounds for my Friday commute.

"Florentine" by Eric Andersen

Next up, we have another track from that incredible compilation - The Essential Eric Andersen. We are right around half-way through the album now.  This beautiful song was originally released on Andersen's classic 1972 album Blue River which was recorded in Nashville and produced by Norbert Putnam.

"Predatory Fish" by Bashful Hips

E2TG favorite - alternative hip-hop artist Bashful Hips - who is based out of Chicago - is back with another track from his latest album - People. Nature. Death.  The album is filled with songs about those three things and how they are connected.

"I'll Fly Away" (Remix) by Elouise and Cesar Davilla-Irizarry

I dare say that when Albert E. Brumley wrote "I'll Fly Away" in 1929, he never imagined it done like this.  We previously featured the haunting version of the song from Deep Water by L.A. band Elouise.  This remix - featuring the work of American Horror Story theme composer Cesar Davilla-Irzarry takes the already other-worldly cover into an entirely different universe.  The "original" cover is featured in the gorgeous video below.  The remix can be found in the Video Playlist embedded below.

"Haearnwerthwr" by connect_icut

I figured since I had to look it up - other reader's might need an explanation - Granular Synthesis is a method by which sounds are broken into tiny grains which are then redistributed and reorganised to form other sounds.
Based in Vancouver (not Connecticut by the way) - the artist who creates music under the connect_icut name makes some truly unique and wonderful music. I'm not sure if just because it came on right after the remix by the AHS composer, but to me, this track would not be out of place in that show.   From the album Music For Granular Synthesizer.

"Whisper Turn" by Bruno Merz

We close things out with the second single with have from New Zealand based alternative folk singer-songwriter Bruno Merz. Really nice stuff. I hope to hear more soon!
