Lead singer Yellow belted out powerful vocals and the band ripped it live. Once I... is the lead off track from their 1991ish album A Green Little Pill. It definitely shows off the sound that made them a great band. Like way too many great bands of that era, they never made it big and it all ended way too soon. Unfortunately, I never got to see one of their legendary Atlanta live shows, but I did see them in front of way too few people in a hole in North Nashville, and even then without the energy of a crowd they still killed it.

Star Witness comes from her excellent 2006 album Fox Confessor Brings the Flood. Her band New Pornographers are pretty awesome, too, but you already knew that.
