Trending Tuesday Morning Shuffle - Leave the Rest Mix

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook

Another reminder to donate to WXNA during this week's Fall Pledge Drive!  If you donate at least $72.00 (that's just $6 a month as a recurring payment), you get a spiffy WXNA coffee mug, and more importantly, you get the satisfaction of knowing you helped keep Nashville's Best Radio Station on the air!

Well, the sun is shining and my mood is much improved. I'm not sure if it's the sun or the fact that I got some things done last night (or both).

Anyway, it is Tuesday, and we have a shuffle into what is trending at WXNA . Between adding some new music to the playlist and cleaning up some of the previously played songs that never got deleted, the list stands at 415 songs.

"Giving the Devil His Due" by Jon Byrd

Nothing like a little devil's music to kick off a morning commute. And by "devil's music" I'm not talking about rock 'n' roll - 'cause Jon Byrd and his band Byrd's Auto Parts don't rock - ever.  What they do is play honest to goodness, by-God, country music, and they do it better than most. This is a stand out track from Jon Byrd's latest album Dirty Ol' River.  Catch Jon Byrd tonight at Family Wash and tomorrow night at Station Inn.

"Blindfold" by Cellarscape

Next up, we have another track from Exo Echo by this UK band that is a recording project of Paul Terry.  If you get the Exo Echo CD via Bandcamp, you can also get a 45 page book and other goodies.  Check it out. HERE

"Dressed in Fireflies" by MJ Bishop

For the second day in a row, we have a track from Give It Away Again.  This is a beautiful song that made me think about summer on this chilly November morning.

"Broken" by Don Gallardo and How Far West

Here at E2TG, we don't always feature music from Jackass movies, but when we do, there is a good chance it is Nashville's own Don Gallardo. This is a live version of a song that was included in the film Bad Grandpa. This is from the Live album that was recorded at a Nashville Sunday Night show that I attended with my radio DJ partner Sue. A great show and a great live album.  I saw Don Gallardo Saturday night at The Last Waltz tribute show - which I haven't written about but which was incredible and raised some good money for the Ben Eyestone Fund for Musician's Health Alliance.

"Icarus' Last Night" by Strange Fiction

Okay, so this strains the "new music" definition - turns out I received it back in early 2016, but never got the chance to feature it.  Strange Fiction are a rock band based in the UK with roots in Barcelona. This is a single that was included on their album Orange. It took a while to come up, but I'm glad it did. I like this a lot.

"King Size Heart" by Sounding Arrow

Next up, we have a track from Loving is Breathing which came out earlier this year. Wonderful sounding Laurel Canyon rock music.  Sounding Arrow is the recording project of Scott Kinnebrew who hails from California by way of North Carolina.

"The Freeze" by Low Society

Low Society are red hot on their most recent album Sanctified. This song is called "The Freeze".  Low Society are based in Memphis, a city which knows a little something about the blues.

"(Either Way) I'm Gone" by Teal Audio (ft. SJ Markman)

And, for the second day in a row, we have a track from Teal Audio Sessions.  Really digging this music.  Here's a track with SJ Markman. Check it out!
