Wild Wednesday Morning Shuffle - The Champ Mix

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook

I'm gonna make this relatively quick. I am actually going out for lunch *gasp*

Have a Happy Thanksgiving (unless you are from Canada - in which case I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving last month or from somewhere that doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving - in which case have a happy Thursday).

Today, we get "Wild" and shuffle up from the playlist of all the songs on my phone....

"Four Wheels" by Austin Lucas

We start off with Austin Lucas from his 2013 album Stay Reckless. Video is from a performance in Norway - captured by my friend Rune of Dust of Daylight.

"Slowly Come Undone" by Dan Brodie

Next, we have a track from Lost Not Found, the latest album by this Australian artist.  You may recall this album includes covers of songs by Paul Simon, Prince, Merle Haggard, Iggy Pop and more.

"Arriving on Earth II/The Champ" by Discount Ravioli

Discount Ravioli are back in the shuffle yet again, but this time, we have a track from their 2016 release Captain Fettuccine and the Quest for The Champ on Earth II.  The album is about "space, time, birth, life, death, love, hate, compassion, envy, betrayal, discovery, wonder, creation, destruction, science, math, language, history, dedication, perseverance, and Italy."

"Shady Grove" by Mudcrutch

Next, we have a track from the self-title debut album by Mudcrutch.  Mudcrutch, if you don't know, was a band that formed in the early 1970's, and featured the late Tom Petty, Mike Campbell, and Benmont Tench who would go on to form Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.  The band were originally active from 1970 to 1975.  They reformed in 2007.

"Little Blind Tailor" by Maynard and the Musties

Next, we have more from Nashville Magic.  This is a song about a little blind tailor.

"The Farm" by Lucinda Williams

Next, we have Lucinda Williams with a track from The Inner Flame - A Tribute to Rainer Ptacek.  Rainer Ptacek was a singer-songwriter, guitarist who sadly passed away in 1997 at the age of 46.  The tribute album, which was made to help cover medical expenses, featured Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, Emmylou Harris and many more.

"Hi-Tops" by Kristen Ford

Next up, we have Nashville based one-person band from her album Rend and Render.

"Headin North to South Bend" by Danny Sandock

And we close out the shuffle with a track from Breakin' New Ground by singer-songwriter Danny Sandock.  Sending this one out to Sue of Double Shot and her husband Mark - since the song is about Indiana where Sandock originated.
