"Anyone But You" by Anana Kaye and Rosemary Fossee
Leading off this week's Playlist, we have the brand new single featuring Anana Kaye and Rosemary Fossee - two of Nashville's most talented people. This song has the feel of a more elegant and sophisticated era, and I think sophistication and elegance are very much needed these days. The song was written by Irakli Gabriel, John Hadley, and the late David Olney. It was recorded under quarantine.
"Walking Song" by RB Morris
As I wrote earlier this week, RB Morris' new album - which has been available in Europe for several months - is now available on streaming services here. RB Morris is a legend - a poet and songwriter - with storied history. If I recall correctly, many of the songs here are older songs getting their first recording.
"True True Love" by Rich Krueger
One-time E2TG Artist of the Year, Rich Krueger is back with a new single that finds him doing what he does best - writing meaningful and wonderful songs. His new album is out next week.
"What You Need" by Molly Martin
Next up, we have the new single from this Nashville-based. I can't say enough how much I rely on artist I know to make sure I am aware of the artists they love. Sometimes that happens directly and sometimes it is through social media posts. Word-of-mouth is important. And, I am grateful to the Nashville singer-songwriters who made me aware of Molly Martin and this new song in particular.
"Some Else's Problem" by Jeremy Ivey
On the heels of his 2019 ANTI Records debut, East Nashville mainstay Jeremy Ivey is back with the first taste of his follow-up. One of Nashville's finest songwriters.
"Lizard Brain" by Buckle Bunny
Next up, we have a new single from Birmingham, Alabama based Buckle Bunny - who counts among its members Ryan Sobb who leads E2TG Band of the Year Ryan Sobb & the Dead Mall.
"Holding on to Summer" by Benchmarks
The new Benchmarks' album is official out in the world (Summer, Slowly), and we celebrate by featuring another track from that album this week.
"The Offering" by Xanthe Alexis
And, we close out this segment of music with a track from the brand new album, The Offering by Colorado-based singer-songwriter Xanthe Alexis. Her brand of singer-songwriter music draws heavily from indie rock music, and I dig it.
