Well this has been quite a week on so many different levels... I feel the need to unplug a bit this weekend. We shall see how that goes.
It is Friday and that means that it is time for a brand new Feature Friday Playlist. Kind of a short list this week, but jam packed with goodness. We start our recap below. We will continue in this space over the next week.

1. "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)" by Sunday Someday
The lovely George Harrison cover by the all-star collaboration of Nashville musicians is up on Spotify now, so we include it in our playlist. In case you missed our previous post - Sunday Someday are some of the folks who used to play at Dee's on Sundays. Anne McCue, Megan Palmer, Bob Lewis, Jason Quicksall, Jonathan Beam, and Erin Nelson.
2. "Where the Sage Grows" by Stephie James
I accidentally slept on this last week, but Stephie James has released her EP (we featured one or two of the pre-release singles). I played this song on the radio yesterday, and it is a good one.
3. "The Late Great John Prine Blues" by Will Kimbrough
High on the list of worst things in this terrible year, was that we lost John Prine to this awful disease and the failed response. Will Kimbrough beautifully captures the feelings of so many of us about the late great John Prine.
4. "Lone Wolves, Together" by Mighty Joe Nolan
I have used the term Renaissance Man to describe Mighty Joe Nolan, and even though he didn't live in the 14th-16th Century it is, I think, an accurate statement - he is an author, poet, journalist, and podcaster in addition to being a fantastic songwriter and singer. (I probably left some things out). This is his latest single, and it was produced by E2TG favorite Andrew Adkins.
5. "MA" by Danny Henry
Danny Henry is Real! I count myself lucky to have had Danny Henry play my birthday show a few years back - he even led the chorus to sing me Happy Birthday. He has a new single that is a tribute to all the great mothers out there. Danny Henry is Real and he is spectacular.
6. "What Is This Love?" by Shane Tutmarc
The multi-layered and multi-talented Shane Tutmarc has been an East Nashville favorite for several years. Before that, he was lighting it up in Seattle. He recently signed by Kook Kat Musik who just released the two CD collection - Written and Produced by Shane Tutmarc. The first CD features singles and deep cuts from Tutmarc and his band Dolour and his project Solar Twin. The second CD features the first CD release of Solar Twins' Pink Noise LP.
