It is the start of another week, and that means it is time for a Music City Monday shuffle...
As you may or may not know or remember, I have a massive playlist of Nashville music* past and present and every Monday, I hit shuffle on that playlist and see what comes up... here is what came up today.
*Music made by people who live or have lived in Nashville (whether or not the music itself was made in Nashville or before or after the person/band was based here).

"By a Woman" by Bebe Buell (from Baring It All: Greetings From Nashbury Part - 2018)
We go back to 2018 and the Nashville debut of the incomparable Bebe Buell. This is the lead track from that album. The song was co-written by Buell and Sally Tiven.
"Operating in the Blue" by Smoky White Devils (from New Old Stock - 2018)
Richie Owens formed this guitar heavy/all-star band with Nick Kane, long-time bassist John Reed, and drummer Michael "Fergie" Ferguson. This is from their debut album released on Plowboy Records.
"Rhyder's Song (Along the Way)" by Don Gallardo (from In the Name of Good Intentions - 2019)
A beautiful song dedicated to his son, from E2TG favorite Don Gallardo. This album was a collaboration with Lilly Winwood.
"Rock and Roll Shoes" by Johnny Cash (from Out Among the Stars - 2014)
Although not released until 2014, this album was actually recorded between 1981 and 1984. A wonderful lost Johnny Cash album that appeared some 30 years after it was recorded and over a decade after Cash passed away. The tapes were discovered by Cash's son John Carter Cash.
"They Sing" by The Singing Butcher (from Top 40 - 2020)
At the time of this album's release (I think), Timothy George really was a butcher by trade. An East Nashville favorite.
"Ahead, Behind" by Jeremy Ivey (from The Dream And The Dreamer - 2019)
Jeremy Ivey just released his third album on Anti- Records called Invisible Pictures (you can find a song from that album on this week's Featured Friday Playlist and hear that song on Ear to the Ground radio - tomorrow morning). But, this takes us back to his debut Anti- release.
