Featured Friday Playlist
1. "Not Gonna Write a Song" by This Frontier Needs Heroes
This week's playlist starts with the brand new single from This Frontier Needs Heroes. Brad Lauretti is currently based out of Miami, but he makes semi-regular trips to Nashville, and I always look forward to seeing him.
2. "Past the Everglades" by Nathan Kalish
Next up, we have the new single from Nashville's own Nathan Kalish. I have had the good fortune to see Kalish perform a few times recently, and I am excited to hear this new song.
3. "Belly Up" by Jason Erie
Last week. while we were off, Jason Erie released his Tiny Fires album, and it lived up to and exceeded my expectations. It has the expected great songs, and it is also sounds amazing. Some full, rich production fleshes out the songs I have mostly heard solo acoustic.
4. "Fool for You" by Nalani Rothrock
Next up, we have a new single from the fairly recent Nashville transplant Nalani Rothrock who relocated to Nashville over the last year from Tampa, Florida.
5. "Stay Awake" by Andrew Leahey & the Homestead
From last week, a great new single from Nashville's Andrew Leahey and his band The Homestead. I really love this song.
6. "change" by elkyn
Last week, Leeds based singer-songwriter elkyn released his new album holy spirit social club. He has become a favorite here at E2TG.
7. "For Pete's Sake" by Dillon Vanders
Dillon Vanders will be releasing his debut solo album Wildfire next week. Last week, he released the third advance single. I just got the album, and it sounds great.
8. "Palindrome" by Willie Dustice
I first met Stephen Nicholas Roberts as part of the band The Big Dumb, and I have been a fan of his solo work under the Willie Dustice moniker. He recently released a lot of the singles he had released on Bandcamp over the last couple of years on streaming services collected as What a Tease. Look for a proper album coming up...
9. "Fade Away" by Hayden THC
E2TG has been following Hayden Coleman (aka Hayden THC) from our earliest days when he released some mixtapes. Since then, he had been busy as a producer, engineer, and songwriter - working with Morgan Bossman among others. Recently, we had him featured on a track by his fiancé Suavee. This is his debut solo single.
10. "Witaj w Domu - English Version" by Ritual Cloak & Michael Iwanowski
Welsh band Ritual Cloak caught our attention last year with their collaboration with Autumn Juvenile. They are back - with another collaboration - this with Welsh/Polish photographer Michal Iwanowski.
11. "Here We Go Again" by The Waterboys
I have been a fan of The Waterboys for going on 40 years. The band whose leader and primary constant member is Mike Scott - have a new album coming soon. This is, I believe, the second single from All Souls Hill.
12. "Midday Midnight" by Pinksqueeze
Pinksqueeze are a Chicago band who are playing tonight at The East Room with E2TG favorites Ghost Town Remedy. GTR's T.J. recommended this new single to me, and I love it.
13. "Nip and Tuck" by Bikini Test Failure
UK songwriter Bikini Test Failure - who I connected with over the last year, is back with a new single.
14. "Give It Up (feat. River Ezra)" by Jon Worthy
Nashville's Jon Worthy and River Ezra team up on this catchy new single.
15. "Raw Nerve" by Palm Ghosts
Palm Ghosts released a new EP called Dead Stars, a couple of weeks ago, and we have a track from that release.
16. "Dignitary Life" by Twen
And, we close this section of the playlist with a recent single from a Nashville band that I saw perform at $2 Tuesday at The 5 Spot this week. They blew everyone away, and this is just a taste of why.
