It is Wednesday, and on Wednesday things get "Wild' here at E2TG....
Here is this morning's shuffle of the all of the songs stored in my phone's memory.
"Little Lights" by Angela Easterling
South Carolina singer-songwriter Angela Easterling's 2015 album Common Law Wife was one of my favorites of that year. The album has some deep Nashville connections. This is a track from that album that has been hanging around the playlist ever since then. A nice "Wild Wednesday" surprise to start the morning.
"It's Not Easy" by Le Folli Arie
Le Folli Arie are a prog-pop band from Milano that we have been following for a couple of years. This is a lovely ballad from their debut (I think it was their debut).
"All My Gods (Ummagma Remix)" by Omodada (feat. Tik Tu)
Keeping the international flavor going - we have this remix from Ukrainian artist Omodada featuring Tik Tu. FYI - Ummagma is a Canadian-Ukrainian duo. Cool sounds. This was released early last year. We featured the unremixed version about a year ago.
"Shimmer and Shine" by Michael Sackler-Berner
New York singer-songwriter had some impressive names work with him including Marshall Crenshaw. This is one of my favorite tracks of his. Sackler-Berner is currently signed to Razor and Tie Music Publishing.
"40 Square Feet" by The Danbury Lie
Black Tar Pineapple was a 2012 release by The Danbury Lie. If I am not mistaken it was originally released under the band name Black Tar Pineapple. In any event, this is one of my favorite tracks from the Black Tar Pineapple album. The Danbury Lie were one my first connections to Connecticut, but they are now based in Seattle.
"Luck Be a Lady" by Frank Sinatra
On Ear to the Ground, we do not think it is odd or unusual to follow up The Danbury Lie with Sinatra doing a song from Guys and Dolls. I guess I have a soft spot for the Chairman of the Board.
"(Interlude) Canadian Crippler" by Ugggy
We close with another track from Valued Customer's Ugggy - who has been active in our shuffles of late - mainly because he has three separate releases out this year, and also because I think he is awesome. This one references (via sound clips) the tragic story of Chris Benoit. I am going to keep posting about Ugggy - so you might as well go check him out.
