A convergence of happenings... still in a pandemic (and into a new wave), the U.S. elections are coming Tuesday, tomorrow is Halloween (and a full moon!), we fall back on the clocks, and I don't know, I'm sure there is more.
Oh yeah, it is Friday, and we have another Featured Friday Playlist here at E2TG. I continue to be blown away by the amount of music being released. We have to end this pandemic and get my musician friends back on the road touring so this poor music blogger can rest... just kidding, but I do want my friends to get back to it.

"Creep - Live" by The Smoking Flowers
The Smoking Flowers (Scott and Kim Collins) have hosted an annual Halloween benefit show. I have attended a few in recent years. Last year's show was a blast. With no show this year due to... well you know... Devil's Tower Records released a live album featuring Smoking Flowers and friends doing some choice - seasonally appropriate songs - including this Radiohead cover.
"I'm Gonna Haunt You" by Rosemary Fossee
Wirebird Studios has stayed busy during the quarantine with several singles from some of the key figures. One of the latest is this spooky song from Rosemary Fossee - who we have heard on several tracks this year.
"Monstar Blues" by Griffin Winton
The fine folks at Rock n Roll Basement have released a Halloween themed compilation called Rock N Roll Basement Presents: Monsters, Vol. 3. Included on the album is this frightening song from Griffin Winton of one-time E2TG Band of the Year The Big Dumb.
"The Wrong Side" by My Politic
Earlier this month, we featured My Politic's new album Short-Sighted People in Power: A Home Recording - when it was released on Bandcamp. Now, the album is available on Spotify so we had to include a track in this week's Playlist (still buy the album though). Exactly zero words are minced here. And, I will take the opportunity to remind you to vote on November 3 if you didn't get to vote early or by mail.
"What's the Mood of the Country" by Marvin Etzioni
Marvin Etzioni first came to my attention some 35 years ago as part of the line-up of Lone Justice that recorded their classic self-titled album. He wrote three of the songs on that album. Etzioni has released his own album of topical music, and we have the title track in our Playlist. Great stuff.
"American Pyre" by Austin Lucas
Continuing our run of politically charged music, we have this powerful song from Austin Lucas' brand new album Alive in the Hot Zone. Lucas has been riding out the pandemic in Europe, but his keen eye has been trained on his home country, and he has some things to say.
"The Freedom Rides Weren't Free" by Jason Ringenberg
A brand new song from Jason Ringenberg! The Nashville legend draws on the legacy of the Freedom Riders - and their fight which is still being fought in 2020.
"Up All Night" by Aaron Lee Tasjan
ALT announced a new album due out in February called Tasjan, Tasjan, Tasjan - and he released the first single - a glam-pop song called Up All Night. Aaron Lee Tasjan is amazing, and if you haven't had the chance to check out his music - start here and then listen to it all.
"Don't Get Jammed Up Out There" by Microwave Mountain
We are going to close out this brand new song from our good friends Microwave Mountain led by the one and only Jamie Timm. Always a joy to hear new music from this incredible band.
And you will not believe the great music that I couldn't fit into this post - next week - we pick up where we left off with songs 10-15 or so.
