June 14 - We have Ben de la Cour opening, plus The End (Brooklyn) making a rare Nashville appearance, and Ted Drozdowski's Psychedelic Circus.

June 21 - Brian Milligram will open for Microwave Mountain and The Coalmen.

June 28 - Joanna Barbera opens for Eli Cook (Virginia) and Bee Taylor.

These shows will be the most fun you are legally allowed to have before the sun goes down!

I plan to have copies of my novel, The Drift, available for sale, and I will be reading short passages each week.

$5.00 21+ (bring a valid ID - even if you are old like me). The 5 Spot is located in East Nashville at 1006 Forrest Avenue.  Doors should be open by 5:45pm or so.  Come early - we are jam packed with great stuff so we will aim to get started by 6:15 or so.

Now, let's jump into this Trending Tuesday shuffle and see what it has in store for us!

"Enid, Oklahoma" by Brad Fielder

We start things off with a first listen to Country Folk - a relatively new 4 song EP from Oklahoma singer-songwriter Brad Fielder.   A great way to start things off. This one has been floating around since April, so I am glad it finally popped up.  Hope to hear and write more about this one soon.

"Ballad of a Stranger's Heart" by Don Gallardo

Up next, another track from the latest album by one of my favorite songwriters. Still Here finds East Nashville's own Don Gallardo teaming up with fellow songwriter and singers to make one of my favorite releases of the year.  This track was co-written by Jesse Cole.

"Shotgun" by Amilia K. Spicer

We continue to make our way through L.A. singer-songwriter Amilia K. Spicer's latest album, Wow and Flutter. Shotgun is a great song, and a wonderful addition to my morning commute.

"Performance" by Poptone

We have another track from the album Poptone by the band Poptone which features Daniel Ash, Kevin Haskins, and Dive Dompe.  Haskins and Ash are both former members of Bauhaus, Love and Rockets, and Tones on Tale. This song was a single from Tones of Tail's only full-length album Pop - which was released in 1984.

"Within Reach" by Raven King

Next up, we have another track from the self-titled album by Providence, RI - alternative rock/grunge band Raven King. I have been digging this album.

"You Get What You Settle For" by Ali Handal

Our second L.A. singer-songwriter in this shuffle - we have Ali Handal with another track from her album That's What She Said.  Handal has had songs featured in shows like Sex in the City, Dawson's Creek, and others.

"Pickin' up a Daisy" by Discount Ravioli

Connecticut's Discount Ravioli return to the shuffle.  We are down to the last six (out of 53) tracks from the album Baby Arm Sessions which was released on July 4, 2016. Discount Ravioli features the talents and energy of Luke, Evan, and Hayden of The Foresters and their friend Sam - who is a talented visual artist. This song is presumably about picking up a daisy.

"you're more 'fun' when you're using" by Ezra Bell

Ezra Bell is a band from Portland, Oregon.  Their self-title debut album was released just month.  This is a wonderful song. I have already featured a couple of songs from this album, and I have to say I have been very impressed.

"Waiting" by Ronan Furlong

Red Sun Rising is the second album from Irish singer-songwriter Ronan Furlong.  We have been featuring tracks from that album for the last few months. He has a great sound and wonderful songs. Check him out.
