I am extremely proud of this line-up and I appreciate all of you!
Finally, thanks to everyone who came out to one, two, three, or all four shows. It means a lot. In Nashville, we have the very mixed blessing of having many, many great music shows virtually every single night of the week. There are always "impossible" choices to be made, and it is also easy, even as a music super fan, to get burned out on going to shows. All that to say, it makes me appreciate those who did make it out even more.
Onward and upward, now that I'm not promoting the shows, I can remind you that my novel The Drift is still for sale. You can get it on Amazon.com. I currently have 8 copies available for sale. I keep them in my car, so if you see me out and about and want one, just let me know.
Now, let's close out June with one final shuffle from the "New Music" playlist!
"Give God the Blues" by Phil Madeira
First up, a timely and pertinent song which comes from the Strange Freedom: Songs of Love and Protest album put out by Cafe Rooster Records. For those who don't know, Phil Madeira is a songwriter, singer, producer, and musician who has worked with and had songs recorded by some of the biggest names in music. Shawn Mullins recorded a version of this song. Will Kimbrough plays on this track."In the Ready Sound" by A Shoreline Dream
Next up, we have a track from the recently released Waitout EP by Denver, Colorado indie-rock band, A Shoreline Dream. Ryan Policky and Erik Jeffries are the two primary members of the band."Mix Ability Sequencing" by Broads
Next up, we have another track from Field Theory by Norwich band, Broads. I have been digging this album for a while now.
"The End?" by The Electric Grandmother
Long-running and highly original and unique Washington D.C. band The Electric Grandmother have been making music for years and their music is unlike anything you have ever heard. Word is that their live shows are multi-media events. The Electric Grandmother is a duo consisting of former teenage sweethearts and current non-teenage sweethearts Pete Faust and Mary Alice Hamnett. They recently attempted to add a third member, but we are not going to talk about that. Their most recent album is called Cancelled - and it is the story of a man whose favorite police drama is cancelled. This the last track of the album... or is it... (I think it is).
"Modern Day Privateers (The Gothsicles Remix)" by And We All Die
Next up, another remix of the song "Modern Day Privateers" by And We All Die. Privatization is a dirty word for many... (for good reasons, I think). This remix is by Boston electronic band The Gothsicles. (Nothing like a gothsicle on a hot day!)
"Where She Goes" by Andrew Reed
Next up, we have another track from If All the World Were Right by singer/songwriter Andrew Reed.
"Silverline" by Middlemist Red
Hungarian psychedelic rock band Middlemist Red return to the shuffle with another track from their album Ripple Soul. Middlemist Red - named after the rarest flower in the world - released Ripple Soul a couple of years ago, but we caught up with them earlier this year ahead of their first ever UK tour. They are torchbearers for the burgeoning psyche rock scene in their native Budapest.
"With You Gone" by Bashful Hips
And we close out with our penultimate track to feature from People. Nature. Death. by long time E2TG Favorite - and alternative hip-hop artist Bashful Hips.
