Got some new music added to my phone, added some releases to the Release Calendar below, and I got to listen to some submissions last night.  Man, there is some incredible new music out or coming out soon.  Keep listening.  Some E2TG Favorites with new music out or coming soon: Richie Owens and the Farm Bureau, Tate & Silas, Ugggy, Tom Schreck and more. 

Well, the Tennessee Governor is going to end his Safer at Home order effective May 1, however, in Nashville it will be extended a bit. I am now working from home until at least May 1. As much as I want life to return to normal, I am not in a hurry. From what I have seen, we are not yet ready and a premature re-opening will likely result in a spike in cases and deaths.  I sincerely hope I am wrong.

I hope everyone - no matter what your state or federal government says will do what you can to stay safe. If you are reading this, you are important to me.

I know I am among the lucky ones, and I am starting to dive into some creativity.

Tuesday Morning Shuffle:

A couple of recent releases, some music from last year, and a couple of older songs from my phone memory. 

"Guns & Drugs" by Matt Ellis (from Rambler Pacifico)

First up, a release we got at the tail end of 2018 from California singer-songwriter Matt Ellis.  I think this is the final song we have to feature from this album.

"Memphis Loud" by Victor Wainwright & the Train (from Memphis Loud)

A first listen, and it is the title track from the forthcoming new album (May 22) from Grammy nominated Victor Wainwright & the Train. Wainwright is based in Memphis and originally from Savannah, Georgia. This is the follow-up to his Grammy nominated self-titled debut album.  This album hits hard. The music fuses Americana, jam, soul, funk, blues, jazz and more into an original sound. 

"Cloud Capped" by kettleflower (from You can run.)

kettleflower is the new project of our old friend Prattle On, Rick (Patrick Rickelton - a Nashville singer-songwriter originally from North Carolina).  We featured this album last year,

"Pepper Mama" by Mark Hummel (from Wayback Machine)

California blues harmonica player/singer and songwriter Mark Hummel released Wayback Machine way back in January.  This may be our first listen.  This track is a song written by Robert Nighthawk. Hummel was part of the Golden State/-Lone Star Blues Revue - which we featured a few years back.

"Small Town Saturday Night" by Wheeler Walker Jr. (from Ol' Wheeler)

A slice of small town life as only Wheeler Walker Jr. can present it.  Not for the faint of heart or easily offended.  

"Welfare Music" by The Bottle Rockets (from Rock - Live from Mountain Stage)

A live version of a still timely song originally released on the 1994 second album The Brooklyn Side by the St. Louis based band.  A wonderful song.
