1. "Ice Cream Phoenix" by Divine Horsemen
Led by Chris D. of the punk band Flesheaters, Divine Horsemen (which also featured E2TG favorite and friend Julie Christensen) were trailblazers on the road to what would be come Alt-Country and eventually part of the foundation of Americana. They are back now with a fantastic new album that is out today.
2. "Nothing But Love" by Tom Mason
When a sometime-pirate makes an album inspired by The Bard (while being featured in a production of said playwright) the result is something really good. E2TG favorite Tom Mason can be seen and heard at Nashville's Shakespeare in the Park.
3. "Good Enough" by EG Vines
When a fellow Cajun sends you music, you have to listen - that is the Cajun code - thanks to John Rodrigue for introducing to EG Vines and thanks to the Cajun code for making sure I listened. EG's new album Through the Mirror is out now.
4, "Closer Than Breathing" by The Jinxes
California duo, The Jinxes connection to E2TG dates back to our earliest days, and it is great to have them back with a recent single.
5. "Together" by Mike Younger
Burning the Bigtop Down was completed before 9/11 before being delayed by record company stuff. It is out now, and it was worth the wait. Also, if I didn't know the story, I would not know it wasn't a newly recorded albun.
6. "Bad News, I Still Love You" by The Great American Novel
Another long-time E2TG favorite - The Great American Novel just released a new album called Extremely Loud and Incredibly Online. Great to have them back in the Playlist
7. "Voice on the Radio" by Tim Easton
Tim Easton just released You Don't Really Know Me - his latest album. The long-time East Nashville favorite is making some of his best music.
8. "Murder In A Dancehall" by Jeff Tuohy
Next up, a great new single from the NYC-based singer-songwriter.
9. "Those Beautiful Days" by Darrin Bradbury
We couldn't resist revisiting three recent album by E2TG favorites- starting with Darrin Bradbury - who is celebrating last week's release of Artvertisement tonight at the OG Basement.
10. "Too Far" by Adrian + Meredith
Bad for Business also came out last week, and A+M celebrated with two sets Tuesday night at The 5 Spot.
11. "Lost Hope" by Don Gallardo
It's been a few weeks since All the Pretty Things came out, and it was time to remind our readers to check it out.
12. "Let's Make Out" by Lydia Loveless
And finally for today - it is always worth celebrating new music from Lydia Loveless who just put of the EP You're Leaving Me on Wednesday.
