We go back to last year and the debut single from this Toronto duo which was mixed by Mark Gardener of Ride.
"Around the Moon" by The Electric Grandmother (from Relaunch - 2020)
Washington DC based sit-com core trailblazers - with a track from their most recent concept album that involves the space shuttle, the Reagans, maybe Mr. T, and oh, I don't know- it is fun stuff though.
"Ribbon" by Soulful Femme (feat. Mark Byars) (from It Is Well With My Soul -2021)
Next, a track from the debut full-length album for this Pittsburgh-based blues, funk, jazz duo. The track features the album's co-producer.
"King of New Orleans" by Better Than Ezra (from Friction Baby - 1996)
Strangely, the Better Than Ezra came up on a thread on Facebook about the cancellation of Jazz Fest. I came across this album in a thrift store shortly after I saw one of the members of the band performing at a benefit show at The Basement East for hurricane relief a few years back.
"Burning Participant" by Them Airs (from Union Suit XL - 2020)
Red hot Connecticut band featuring Cade Williams (aka Smokey the Firebear) and Evan Nork (The Foresters et.al.) Self-described "hot boys" - the band seems to be tearing it up around Northeast.
"Cut" by Minutemen (from Post-Mersh, Vol. 2 - 1987)
And we close with a track originally on Buzz or Howl Under the Influence of Heat - which on compiled with Project Mersh and released in 1987.
