It is Friday, and we have another Featured Friday to bring you. This week's list consists of 34 songs and about 2 hours and 8 minutes of music - spanning multiple genres and locations...  We will begin our recap of the list with the first 8 songs below the jump.  We will continue the recap with songs 9-34 on Monday - Thursday next week.

Featured Friday Playlist (Songs 1-8)

1. "Landfill" by Skylar Gregg

We start things off with a track from the forthcoming Roses album (her third) which is due August 14. A great song to start of the shuffle. 

2. "Home Sweet Hollywood" by Ted Russell Kamp; Shooter Jennings

Next up, we have the lead track from Down in Den - 12th album as artist and front man.  He has contributed to many albums that we have featured here - either as producer, songwriter, and/or bass player.  This album features an impressive line-up of talent - included this duet with Shooter Jennings. 

3. "10:18" by Rev J Mikhael Smith and the Brimstone Miracle

Rev J Mikhael Smith (aka Josh Smith) is a Knoxville based artist best known for his other hand Handsome and the Humbles.  This the lead single from the debut EP (Dogwood Winter) by the newer band. The EP is out today. Really wonderful rootsy music. I dig it. 

4. "Why Should I Wait?" by Psychic Temple; The Dream Syndicate

We first wrote about Psychic Temple aka Chris Schlarb a few years ago.  We got hold of an earlier release of his just after he made a Nashville appearance. We have kept our Ear to the Ground for him, and he has a brand new release called Houses of the Holy - which is a double album featuring Psychic Temple "taking over" a different band for each side.  This track is from side C which finds the California artist working with the legendary Dream Syndicate - who recently released a new album of their own. 

5. "Highway 10" by Lee Gallagher & the Hallelujah

Next up, we have some more California music via cosmic American rock and roller Lee Gallagher. Really dig this song. 

6. "All I Ever Do" by Great Peacock

Next up, we have a track from the forthcoming (October 9) new album (Forever Worse Better) by Nashville's own Great Peacock.  I have been a big fan of this band for a while, and new music from them is always a delight. 

7. "Press Animal" by Palm Ghost

Another Nashville favorite - Palm Ghosts have a new EP called Loop Arcade.  The band - led by Joseph Lekkas and featuring Benjamin Jason Douglas (Slump Test) bring their brand of Nashville-based - Manchester UK-inspired rock music. 

8. "Holding the Bag" by The Danberrys

Finally, we have been featuring early singles, but Shine - the new album by The Danberrys (Ben Deberry and Dorothy Daniel) who are fixtures in the East Nashville community.  Most recently, Ben Debery can be found playing live streams with The Killer Dee's from Dee's County Cocktail Lounge in Madison.
