Today, we recap the next four songs of this week's Featured Friday Playlist (songs 5-8)

5. "When I See You Again" by Tim Easton

First up, we have a brand new single from an E2TG and East Nashville favorite Tim Easton.  It is always good to hear new music from Easton. His opening solo set for all but one week of India Ramey's residency back before the lockdowns and shutdowns were wonderful.

6. "May the Stars Fall Upon Your Door - Live" by Andrew Adkins

We mentioned this release when we premiered Adkins new video last week, this is a newly release live recording of a favorite song of mine - from his new live EP called One Evening in Brooklyn: Live!

7. "Sweet Dreams, Pt. 2: The Nightmarish Nightmare" by Carrus & Kurtz

The Carrus & Kurtz train keeps rolling with the release of the third volume of their on-going The Genius Of... series of ambient bass and pedal steel recordings.  This one is subtitled Third Eye's the Charm. 

8. "Bored Day" by Cameron Carrus

And finally, we have Cameron Carrus alone with a recent solo bass single that captures these pandemic days perfectly.

Music City Monday Shuffle

Per our usual custom, our shuffle today, Monday, comes from our exhaustive Music City Monday Playlist - an ever expanding playlist of all things Nashville-related - past and present.

"I'm Doin' Fine" by Megan Palmer and Rayvon Pettis (from Nothing is Sweeter)

First out of the gate, we have a track from the split/collaborative release between Megan Palmer and Rayvon Pettis. This track featured Megan Palmer on vocals.

"One Place" by Braintapes (from Lorna)

Next up, we have a band that features three members of a band that has backed up Rayvon Pettis. Braintapes features Griffin Winton, Stephen Nicholas Roberts, and Daniel D'Olive of The Big Dumb - along with Drew D'Oliveira and Callie McFee. 

"Hello Music City" by Bebe Buell (from Baring It All: Greetings from Nashbury Park)

Next, we have Bebe Buell's introductory song to her adopted hometown. Marking her relocation from her long-time home in New York to Nashville. Buell has one of the more colorful backstories amount Nashville's diverse and storied music community.

"Shot a Man" by Amelia White (from Blue Souvenirs)

Next, we have another track from the album that gave its name to Amelia White's backing band.  White has been a long-time East Nashville favorite as well as a favorite of mind. 

"Take Cover" by East Kin (from Freshman Effort)

Next, we have a track from the 2017 debut album of a band made up of veterans of the Nashville music scene. East Kin's members have been part of numerous Nashville bands like Old Union, Ballhog!, The Enablers, Guy Smiley Blues Exchange, and more. Dig this tune!

"Totally Lonely" by Justin & the Cosmics (from PERF)

And, we close with another long-time East Nashville favorite. From an album that was recorded live in Ardent Studios in Memphis. Coincidentally, the album was released two years ago yesterday - and I recently came across pictures from the album release show.
