Today is Veteran's Day - a time to pause and remember those who served our nation in the military.
I have the day off work. In the past, I have taken a day off from blogging when I am off work, but I am choosing today to press on.
Our Featured Friday Playlist recap rolls on with songs 22-26:
22. "Medicine" by The Sea at Midnight
Starting things off we have LA based postpunk band The Sea at Midnight with a track from the debut self-titled album. Really great stuff that reminds of a lot of great bands I love.
23. "Dosed" by Arran Sym
Coincidentally, we follow up a song called "Medicine" with a song called "Dosed". This is a track from the another debut - this time the EP 1000 Micrograms of Love via Scottish producer and artist Arran Sym. Really digging this.
24. "Illinois by Numbers" by Moral Mazes
Next up, we have a great new track from Moral Mazes - which features members of Jawbox, The Bomb, Airstream Futures, and more. This is from a recently released 7".
25. "White and Black Angels" by Monsieur Minimal
This is our third time (unless I lost count) featuring Greek artist Monsieur Minimal - we had previously featured the track Easteria - which is the title track from his new album.
26. "The Distances" by Cosmopolis
There has definitely been a mood and feel to this segment of music, and this new single from global band Cosmopolis is a great way to close it out. The band's members are from UK, Belgium, and Australia.

"Drug Store Wine" by No. 1 Knife (from Mr. Nickelsworth 2020)
No. 1 Knife is the new band featuring Brian Wright and Sally Jaye - they just released their debut album. I have been so excited about this album, and I am digging it so far.
"Innovation Leads to Distinction" by Them Airs (from Union Suit XL 2020)
New Haven band Them Airs recently released some new music, but this goes back to their Union Suit XL album which came out earlier this year. The band features Cade Williams (Smokey the Firebear) and Evan Nork (The Foresters).
"Got No Place to Go" by Laurence Jones (from Take Me High 2016)
Next, we go back to 2016 and these album from the British blues rock guitar phenom Laurence Jones.
"Everything" by Sideshow (Sideshow Demos - date????)
Sideshow was an early/mid 90s??? Nashville band featuring Scott Feinstein (Shadow 15), Earl Beasley, and - in what was supposedly his first band or at least first Nashville band - Brad Pemberton. This one of a set of demos that Feinstein sent me a couple of years back. Nothing on YouTube so I have an Embed of this track from Soundcloud.
"I Will Follow You into the Dark" by Tom Schreck (from Mixed Shapes (Cover Songs) 2020)
E2TG Favorite Tom Schreck has a new collection of cover songs that is either out or soon to be out. This is our first listen - a stellar Death Cab cover. No video for this track, but I found a live video Schreck doing another cover which is also on this album - recorded live at The Building. The sound quality is not great, but the archival significance makes it worthy of posting.
"Wine & Dine" by Nick Nace (from Wrestling With the Mystery 2019)
We close out with a track from Nick Nace's wonderful album of last year. Some wonderful local music to close things out today.
