E2TG 03/04/2021 - Walking on a Thin Line - Sweet Talk Mix (Beatbox Remix)

Be sure to "Like" Ear to the Ground on Facebook!

Once again, I just wanted to put something in that middle part of the blog post title... it doesn't really mean anything. Kind of a frustrating week really - much time spent on things that didn't pan out... and I am really tired today, but both radio shows went well and I am falling into a good rhythm with the two shows.

On we go...

And, we've reached the end of this week's Playlist recap. As always, I saved some cool music for last...
(songs 29-34):

29. "Here Comes Our Family" by Scott Robert Allen
First up today, we have the new solo album from Michigan based songwriter/singer Scott Robert Allen (Thunderbirds Are Now!, Red Shirt Brigade). It is his first new music following a decade long hiatus.
30. "Goodbye Seems to Only Start Again" by Brian Bringelson
Next up, we have the new solo album from this California singer/songwriter (Anchor & Bear) who previously released solo music under the name Paul Starling.
31. "For the Dead" by The Red Step
Next up, we have a track from the self-titled debut album by The Red Step - which features Tobias Nathaniel of The Black Heart Procession who is backed by some of Belgrade's best musicians.
32. "Roll the Dice" by Feral Ghost
Last week, we had the new single from Feralman - now, we have a track from the British rock band Feral Ghost. Great stuff.
33. "In Secure City" by Julez and the Rollerz
Next up, we have some new music from L.A. 21st Century garage band formerly known as Julez.
34. "STEEZ LUIZ" by GUSPY
And we close out this week's Playlist with the debut single from an artist from Santa Ana who combines surf rock, indie pop, and reggae. A great debut and a wonderful way to take us out of this week's playlist and to prepare for a new playlist hitting around midnight.

Thursday Morning Shuffle

"Old Guitar" by Matt Eckstine (from Lil Blue - 2020)
First up, we have a track from an album released back in October by this singer-songwriter from Savannah, Georgia. Wonderful song.
"u don't want me back" by Stephen Rubinosky (feat.Maggie Schneider) (single - 2020)
Next up, a cool pop song released around this time last year. Rubinosky started his solo career with an appearance on the Jerry Springer Show.
"I've Got A Voice" by Glenn Jones (from Ready for The Good Times - 2020)
Next up - an early 2020 release from this singer-songwriter from North Carolina who worked with a who's who list of fellow NC musician on this, his third studio album.
"Songs for Nobody" by Nathan Kalish (from Songs for Nobody - 2020)
Next up, one of my favorite releases of 2020 by this Nashville based singer-songwriter.  Musicians on the album include some E2TG favorites like Adam Kurtz, Danny Pratt (of Flying Buffalos), Laur Joamets, and Preston Cochran (of E2TG Band of the Year Ryan Sobb and the Dead Mall).  Cochrane also engineered the album (which was recorded at Tracehorse Studio) with his Homeboy Loves You partner Scottie Prudhoe.
"On the Corner of the Square" by Nick Millevoi (from Co-Mission: An Artist Relief Compilation, Vol. 1 - 2020)
Next up, a great instrumental track by this Philadelphia based guitarist from this benefit compilation put out by Folkadelphia.
"Sweet Talk" by Madisyn Whajne (from Save Our Hearts - 2020)
Next - we have a late 2020 debut release from this Canadian, First Nations singer-songwriter. A great track and album.
"Beatbox Champloo" by Willie Dustice (Broken Gear Blues - 2021)

And we close with the sole 2021 release in the shuffle. This from E2TG favorite Willie Dustice - aka Stephen Nicholas Robersts of E2TG Band of the Yeat - The Big Dumb. No video of this track that I could find - so I found an earlier live performance.
