E2TG 7/15/2021 - Happy I Suppose - Point Blank Mix (American Gun Remix)

I can't believe it is almost time for another Featured Friday Playlist.  Our final recap is below...

Featured Friday Playlist recap (part 5) (songs 29-33):

29. "Vacation" by New Voyage
Here is where I am going to own up.... I had gotten an e-mail about a band called New Voyage. I downloaded their song, and then around midnight last Thursday, I went to Spotify to find it to add to the new playlist. I found New Voyage and a new release and I added this and went on about my business.  Turns out this isn't that New Voyage (what are the odds) but this is chill and I will have the other New Voyage in the playlist next week.
30. "The King is Dead" by The Cuttthroat Brothers (feat. Mike Watt)
I will never not add a Mike Watt related track to the Playlist. This is just the latest (probably not anymore) - wherein Watt joins forces with two garage punk barbers who he had interviewed from his Watt from Pedro show.
31. "Palm of Your Hand" by Billy Hammer
Topanga, California based Billy Hammer had previously made lo-fi music - but his new track is an upbeat groovy tune. Check it out.
32. "Look at Me Now" by ELIOT
Next up, we have the latest single from this Hollywood based indie singer.
33. "Non-Typical Find" by Tylor & the Train Robbers
And we close this week's playlist recap with the title track from the new album by this band from Boise, Idaho.  The album was produced by Cody Braun of Reckless Kelly.  A really great 6 minute plus tune. As I say every week, we saved something really cool for the end.

Thursday Morning Shuffle

"Point Blank- Live" by Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band (from 2016/01/19 Chicago IL - 2016)
From the 2016 River tour a live performance of one of Springsteen's best.
"Just Bleed" by Turnstiles (from Turnstiles EP - 2021)
First up, we have a track from the debut EP by this Irish alt-punk band from Galway.
"Girl You Never Knew" by Susan Anders (from 13 Women - 2021)
Next up, we have a track from one of my favorite albums of 2021 - via Nashville based singer-songwriter Susan Anders.  The 13 songs are inspired by 13 incredible women. Including this track inspired by Rosie the Riveter - a character that represented the women who went to work during World War II - many of whom - once the war was over resisted going back to the way things were before.
"Burbuliene" by shishi (from Mafitishei - 2020)
Next up, we have a track I loved from last year - by this surf punk/riot girl trio from Lithuania.
"American Gun" by Nathan Bell (from Er Gwaetha Peb a Phopeth - 2018)
We have been featuring a lot of music recently from Wales. This, though, is from a live album recorded in Wales by our Tennessee friend Nathan Bell. The title translates to Despite Everyone and Everything. Sadly the song remains profoundly relevant.
