I feel like I have been a rush a lot lately, and honestly, I'm not sure that I see that changing, but I wanted to take a minute to check in....
Tuesday nights in Nashville have become of my favorite nights for music in Nashville. I have been enjoying Darrin Bradbury's Home for Wayward Songwriters at Dee's. Darrin, of course, is an all-time E2TG favorite - the most tagged artist in E2TG history - two time Artist of the Year etc. This night always features some amazing songwriters - some favorites and some new to me. Despite all the changes and despite COVID - Nashville has a thriving community of young, independent songwriters.
Also, I am happy to report that $2 Tuesday is back at The 5 Spot. After experimenting with different time slots and prices post-shutdown, the classic is back and the crowds are returning. In addition to being a great hang, the music is always top-notch. Again, whether it is old favorites or new to me music - I am very rarely disappointed. Plus, every week Derek Hoke leads his amazing band. Last night, his band included pedal steel master Adam Kurtz and keyboardist Thayer Sarrano who along with Hoke, drummer Steve Latanation, and bassist Mark Robertson - look Hoke's songs to new and dizzying heights.
Now on with today's shuffle:
