Next up, we have a track from the 2019 release from this Cleveland, Ohio based avant-garde jazz band BIRTH who were recommended to me by the great Jack Silverman.
"Ringo" by Atmosphere (from Fishing Blues - 2016)
Next up, we have a track from the eighth studio album by the hip hop duo ftrom Minneapolis.
"Love Melody" by Joey Joesph (from Nite Vibes - 2021)
Next up, we have a track from a summer 2021 release from this Cincinnati based artist.
"Back for Good" by Johanna Kuvaja (from Back for Good - 2020)
Next, we go back to early 2020 and this track from the Finnish pop singer.
"Ah-Leu-Cha" by The Miles Davis Sextet (from Miles and Monk at Newport - 1964)
This was the lead track on the original LP - a recording from a 1958 performance at the Newport Jazz Festival. At the time, it was the only non-bootleg recording of a pre-1960 performance by the combo. Davis' band included John Coltrane and "Cannonball Adderly. The other side of the album features a 1963 performance by Thelonious Monk and his Quartet - featuring Pee Wee Russell and Charlie Rouse.
