Time is moving on! I started planning out my radio shows and realized the holidays will be here before we know it. Nothing like planning ahead to make time seem to go ever faster.
I have also started reviewing 2021 for a recap show of some kind of the Ear to the Ground radio show. This has been such a wild year, I was surprised that some of the music from the beginning of this year wasn't from a previous year.

"Mikoto" by Rock of Asia (from Asian Anthology - 2021)
First up, we have a track from this rock, folk, fusion project which combines rock and roll with traditional Japanese music and ideals. This anthology - which includes the best of the project's three previous releases - was released to mark the ten year anniversary of the band's first release.
"Fake Core" by Mild Mild Country (from Never Had a Touch to Lose - 2021)
Next up, we have a track from the debut solo instrumental album from Jake Ward (Eureka California) recording as Mild Mild Country. An eleven minute instrumental.
"Flies on Shit" by Justin Peter Kinkel-Schuster (from Take Heart Take Care - 2019)
Next up, we go back to 2019 with this track from Arkansas-based musician, singer, and songwriter of the band Water Liars. We previously covered his collaboration will Will Johnson of Centromatic under the name Marie/Lepanto.
"Warden's Hotel" by Rod Picott (from Wood, Steel, Dust & Dreams - 2021)
This double CD released in May - contains every song Nashville singer-songwriter Rod Picott has written with Slaid Cleaves over the last 30 years. A remarkable album and a great song.
"I've Got Your Back" by Hurricane Ruth (from Good Life - 2020)
And, we close with a track from the summer 2020 release from blues singer Hurricane Ruth - who began her career as a dancer. This song was written by Nashville songwriters Karen Leipziger, Freda McCrary, and Irene Kelley. A great tune to take us out today.
