After today's show, I still have a ton of favorite music from 2021 that didn't make it onto either of the two shows - including some of my top favorites.  I may do a third edition of the faves next week before diving into brand new music.

In the meantime, for the rest of this week, I will shuffling up the big favorites playlist so highlight more faves from the year.

2021 Favorites Shuffle

"Hey Edna" by Old Tom & the Lookouts (from Just for Beasts - 2021)
The album from this Boston based indie-folk band came out in November.  This single was released in August.
"Pilgrims and Punks" by The Grahams (from Sha La La - 2021)
From September, we have this single from the latest album by the Nashville based duo.
"The Ballad of Sissy & Porter" by The Whitmore Sisters (single - 2021)
Bonnie and Eleanor Whitmore are both well-established artists in their own right.  This relatively new collaboration has produced some fantastic music.  The full album is due our early in 2022.
"I'm An Animal Too" by Sour Ops (from X - 2021)
I first became aware of Price Harrison a couple of years ago - through his association with a great Memphis band called Neighborhood Texture Jam, then through his photography.  I later learned of his role in some of the great Nashville music I loved back in the day.  This recent music from his Sour Ops project - actually came to me through one my regular UK based publicists. And, it is wonderful stuff.
"Against the Wall" by Mabilene (from The Other Side - 2021)
I first knew Mabilene from her time in the L.A. based band The Battlefield.  I kind of lost touch, but then ran into her at Don Gallardo's album release show earlier this year. Soon after that, she began releasing some fantastic new music.
"My Whiskey Life" by West of Texas (from Heartache, Hangovers & Honky Tonks - 2021)
California country swing music has a rich and storied history, and West of Texas are contributing a wonderful new chapter.
"Can't Take No More" by Neville Staple (from From the Specials & Beyond - 2021)
Over the past several years, I have been fortunate to connect through the blog with the ska legend Neville Staple of The Specials. This is some very recent music from him.
"Nobody Knows Anything" by Bikini Test Failure (single - 2021)
UK singer-songwriter known as Bikini Test Failure and I connected via e-mail through shared loss. This is one of the great songs he released in 2021
"Good Day Sunshine" by Kate Taylor (from Why Wait! - 2021)
I was fortunate enough to catch Kate Taylor at her show at City Winery earlier this year.  This album - released 50 years after her debut - was, like the earlier album, produced by the great Peter Asher - who as also at that show. This Beatles song blew me away when I first heard it.
