Featured Friday Morning Shuffle - High Powered Powder Mix

All of this happened a long time ago when the world was a very different place. Of course, none of us knew that at the time.

I am continuing to work on my Spotify playlists for E2TG.  So far, I have completed seven - January - July2018.  These are meant to be a cross-section of music I featured during those months - not necessarily music released in those months.   If you are interested, you can check out the playlists (links below)  and follow my personal profile to find out when new playlists are created.

Well it's Friday, and the first work week of October is winding down.  Here in Nashville, we are still having summer-like temperatures even as the days get shorter.

Anyway, it is Friday, and we have a typically eclectic shuffle from our "New Music" playlist.

"k e y s" by Ugggy

I had almost forgotten that I still had a few Ugggy songs in my playlist. Those who have read E2TG may recall that Ugggy (who is one half of 2016 E2TG Band of the Year - Valued Customer and who is 2017 Artist of the Year) released new music on the first of every month for a year in 2017 and early 2018.  He has subsequently removed those albums from Bandcamp, so I hope you snagged them when I told you about them.  Anyway, we have tracks from Ugggy bookending this shuffle. The first is from an EP called Moodring.

"Oh" by Dentist

Next up, we have another track from Nightswimming by Dentist - a band from Asbury Park, New Jersey.  They are indie band whose sound includes elements of surf and more. Fun stuff.

"I'm Alive" by Blue Largo

Yesterday, we had our first listen to California band, Blue Largo.  Today, we have our second and third listen.  Their forthcoming album is called Before the Devil Steals Your Soul. Really loved this song.

"Orchid" by K Michelle Dubois

Next up, we have a first listen.  K Michelle Dubois is a singer-songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia. "Orchid" is the second single from her forthcoming album Harness. This is infectious indie pop music of the highest quality.  Really dug this song, and I can't wait to here more.

"Every Time You Call My Name" by Blue Largo

Next, we have our second track from Before the Devil Steals Your Soul.  The more I hear of this album, and this band, the more I like.

"We Are Fucked (Fucked Up Remix)" by Flesh Eating Foundation (AlienNation Mix)

It seems rather fitting to me that this song came up at the end of this of all weeks. I think this is the last of the versions of the single, "We Are Fucked" by UK industrial/electronic band Flesh Eating Foundation. This remix is by the dark electro/black metal outfit Alien:Nation.

"Numbers" bt DateMonthYear

Next up, we have a single from New Zealand rock band DateMonthYear. Really love the sound of this band, and I cannot wait to hear more from them.

"Undo" by Searmanas

We move on to some dark ambient music from Searmanas which is a solo project of Niabi Aquena - who is based in New York City, but originally from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.

"High Powered Dream Powder=High Powered Dream" by Ugggy

We close with another from Ugggy. His High Powered Dream mixtape was released as a single 7 minute track - so this is the whole mixtape. It is Ugggy at his finest. Ugggy has been working in collage recently, but he has been teasing some new music of some kind. You know E2TG will be all over it and will let you know when we know.
