In the midst of heaviness and loss, it is important, I thing to find things that are life affirming. It is also a good time to reevaluate how one spends one's time. It is not that every moment has to be "productive", but if one is spending too much time on things that are not necessary, do not bring joy, and do not benefit the world - then maybe, just maybe, it is worth thinking about why one is doing those things...

"Arther" by Them Airs (from Union Suit XL - 2020)
New Haven, Connecticut band Them Airs released two albums in 2020. This one came out in January - and Doped Runner Verse was released in November. The band has been getting some good attention in their home state.
"The Old Car" by Babybird (from King of Nothing - 2020)
British singer-songwriter and producer Stephen Jones records under the name Baby Bird. He has released over 100 albums over the last decade - released on bandcamp. This album is sampling of that fantastic output.
"Globe in My Room" by Kristen Englenz (from ingenue - 2020)
2020 was such an off year, I could have sworn this album came out in late 2019 - but I think I got an early copy. Kristen Englenz is an E2TG favorite, and ingenue is a great album. It was produced by the legendary Ken Coomer.
"Fire" by KnightressM1 (from Dreams and Devastation - 2020)
Bay area rock band KnightressM1 came to my attention last year, and I became a big fan of their sound which featured elements of metal with interesting instrumentation from Emily Palen backed by a powerhouse rhythm section.
"The Race in On" by Musta Paraati (from Black Parade - 2018)
This album by this Finnish post-punk band was their first in 34 years at the time and featured an album cover which was inspired by the cover of the band's debut album. This was one of my favorite albums of 2018.
"Where Will You Lay Your Head" by Tom House (from 'Til You've Seen Mine - 2000)
And finally, we go back two decades for this song from E2TG favorite and Nashville underground legend Tom House.
