Heading into a short week - with a couple days off work at the end following a weekend filled with music.
Friday - I checked back in with Tim Carroll's Rock and Roll Happy Hour and caught part of the 8th Anniversary of the Strictly Eighties Dance Party. Saturday night was the annual Last Waltz tribute show - one of those events where I knew more people on stage than off. The songs are all classics and the musicians and singers were all incredible. It would have been hard for it to not be great, and it still exceeded expectations. Sunday, I caught Slowforce (Megan Palmer and Bob Lewis) along with what was billed as a solo set by Stuffy Shmitt but which was actually Stuffy and Tom Mason doing a set of classic blues and folk songs. A really fun way to wrap up the weekend.

I ran into Joe Maynard on Friday - making a quick trip through Nashville. This is from the most recent Maynard and the Musties album - about an enigmatic woman from Nashville.

Funny how random shuffles work - we had another track from this 3 song EP come up last week - out of thousands of songs in our playlists.

"Wait in Line" by Glass Dove (from Half-Life Wilderness - 2021)
Lots of 2021 music in the shuffle today, this is the debut release from synth rock/indie pop artist Glass Dove - not to be mistaken for another Nashville project Glass Cabin who also released a debut this year.
"Bad for Business" by Adrian + Meredith (from Bad for Business - 2021)
Next up, we have the title track from the eclectic and long-awaited album from Adrian + Meredith which was released earlier this year.
"Little Red Rooster" by The Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies (from Lamanamanumi - 2001)
The sole - non 2021 release is from the 20 year old release from the band that formed in 1990 and featured Mike Farris - who went on to a fantastic solo career. This is their extended take on the Willie Dixon classic.
