Wild Wednesday Morning Shuffle - Late Devonian Mix (Magic Bus Remix)

*Note: The video playlist at the bottom of the post attempts to closely approximate the shuffle I listened to on my way to work this morning. When a video for a song was not available, I substituted another song by the same artist. When I could not find any videos by an artist, I included a related video or did not include a video for that track. This blog may reference unreleased tracks, however, no unreleased music is ever included.

Let's get WILD with a Wild Wednesday shuffle - a shuffle of all the music I have saved to my phone's memory card.  It amounts to over 3,000 songs - I think.

"Magic Bus" by Peter Noone, Peter Banks, Ginger Baker

How about we started with a cover of the 1968 the Who song featuring Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits, the late Peter Banks of Yes (and more), and the late Ginger Baker of Cream (and more).

"I Don't Trust Her" by ESOEBO

Next up, we have a track from ESOEBO VI.  ESOEBO (Eclectic Selections Of Everything But Opera) was a duo featuring Chuck McDowell and Gail Burnett.  We were saddened to learn that Chuck McDowell passed away in July following a four year battle with cancer.  We send out best to all who loved him.  I am grateful to get to know his music.

"Don't Call Me Angel" by Hilary Scott

Next up, we have the title track to the 2018 album by Hilary Scott.  Since it has been a little while since we featured this album, it might be worth mentioning that this Hilary Scott (one "L") is not Hillary Scott (two "L"s) of Lady Antebellum.

"Somebody Else's Money" by Stuffy Shmitt

What's a Wild Wednesday without the "wildman" himself.  Stuffy Shmitt with a song originally from his album Dog Steals the Moon which came out in 2002. This version was included on his compilation album Twelve Songs which he made just prior to moving to Nashville.  We eagerly await some new Stuffy Shmitt music in 2020.

"Late Devonian" by Broads

Next up, we have an instrumental b-side from Norwich band Broads.  It was the b-side to their "Climbs" single from their album Field Theory album. Couldn't find a video for the b-side so I included the a-side in the video playlist.

"The Man Who Loved Life (Live)" by The Jayhawks

Next, a live version of the lead track from the 1997 fifth album by The Jayhawks. It was their first album following the departure of Mark Olson.   This is from the Live at Belly Up album which came out in 2015.

"Let da Music Play" by WesdaRuler

The only really current track in today's shuffle.  This another fine track from Ocean Drive by Athens, Georgia based hip-hop artist WesdaRuler.

"Full Moon Shining Down" by Adam Carroll

And we close out with songs from two of the best contemporary songwriters.  First up, Adam Carroll from his Old Town Rock and Roll album.  I just love Carroll's songs so much.

"A Short One of Life" by Rich Krueger

And we close with reigning E2TG Artist of the Year Rich Krueger from his Life Ain't That Long album.  This album preceded his Nowthen album by a few months, but I got this album second - I believe when I ran into Krueger at American Fest 2018.  A fine ending to this mid-week shuffle.
